EricJ
Supposedly they should, as you can damage it with your own fire, but for all intents it's not engaged. Why I don't know, but it's set to be a "friendly"
Viper
It really depends what you mean by "autofire." The American M-1 main gun is a manual reloading weapon, the loader needs to put a fresh round into the gun after every shot. this action takes about 5 seconds for an average loader. May other tanks, namely all recent Soviet models; use an auto-loader. This is a device that holds a certain number of rounds, usually 20, in ready and will automatically load them into the breach after the gun is fired. Depending on the model these generally take 6 - 8 seconds to reload a gun, and because of the "magazine" used to hold ready rounds they are only capable of firing ammunition that is short enough. Another disadvantage of the auto-loader is that most models require that the gun barrel drop back down to level for it to load, then re-elevate again to fire. This not only takes more precious time but could give an astute enemy gunner a good visual cue when you are capable of firing or not. MLRS is an artillery system, one which can fire 12 rounds rather quickly but then must take a decent amount of time to reload... All tanks do have a number of truly automatic weapons, usually in the form of 7.62mm coax and 12.7mm mounted weapons. For a tank, IRL, to shoot down a drone would be quite hard. Your best bet would be with one of the mounted MGs, in the case of an M-1 the commanders 12.7mm flex gun would be the ideal choice. The main gun will not be able to super-elevate enough to hit a drone in close which would make it an impractical weapon, especially with the engagement ranges in GR:AW. Using the right ammo though, such as the US M-830A2 MPAT or STAFF rounds, both of which are proximity detonated for hitting helicopters or low-flying aircraft, it would be possible.
