Waika
Anyone see measureable frame rate improvements in GRAW with the new drivers (or any games for that matter)? I know driver 'upgrades' can be a real mixed bag for some, especially when it comes to real performance and stability improvements. While I've always had very good luck with new Nvidia drivers, one thing I have noticed is that beyond a certain point driver updates stop offering the card you bought much in the way of real improvement and focus on the latest hardware Nvidia has released -- and this doesn't have to be that far along in their product cycle. I have an SLI'd pair of 7800 GT's and the last five driver updates have offered literally nothing in the way of performance improvements; and in the case of GRAW the best performance I get is from an older beta driver... What new render features are ya seeing in these and what do they offer? Sounds like features that normally can be unlocked by one of the 'CoolBits' registry patches... Rebar
I installed this new driver. While it was installing, there was a dialog box that said "these dll's are no longer being used" etc., so I deleted them. Now, I don't know if it was because I deleted the dll's or if it was the driver itself, my video codecs are hosed. My windows media player, quicktime, and TV tuner card won't play video, trying makes my machine run so slow it's unusable and have to power cycle it. When I look at my device manager->sound video and game controllers->video codecs->properties, they're all listed as not working properly. I tried reinstalling windows media player, that didn't help. If someone could help me out, or point me to a place where I could, I'd appreciate it very much.
Waika
Zebb the driver I'm using is the 84.43 ß, if you have newer gen card(s) then the 7800 you may see no improvement. But this was the last driver I was made aware of that contained optimizations for 7800 hardware specifically, and oddly I believe is the last driver not to incorporate Nvidia's new fangled Control Panel. Another tning I noticed when I was benchmarking my drivers is that having the nVIDIA PureVideo Decoder installed appears to confer a performane hit for some games (GRAW among them); had to do a clean reinstall of everything to get back the few lost frames... CR6
If someone could help me out, or point me to a place where I could, I'd appreciate it very much. Rebar, your best bet is to do a system restore to a point just before you installed the new drivers.

GreyHaired
Won't it boot in safe mode either? To find your XP key, there's a freeware utility: http://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder.shtml but this requires of course that you can get into windows and install it.
