GRiN_desmond22
Anyone has a good tip for a pair of teamspeak headphones? I'm thinking about buying a pair for the Saturday Big Bash, and future similar events (I hope they are many)! Currently I'm looking at Steelpad Steel Sound 5H, Koss Headset SB45, Cosonic CS-7, in declining price range. Anyone use any of those and can give me some feedback on their quality? Thanks in advance - and see you on Saturday!

Koss always makes good products for sound.
JASGripen
I use Sennheiser Headset PC-150: http://www.webhallen.com/prod.php?id=28636 The 160 series is a bit newer, more exensive and perhaps even better in some way.
Lightspeed
I recommend the Hewlett Packard Bass Vibration Headset. Great heavy duty quality, a well-made microphone, and of course, bass vibration for extra emmersion. Silentwolf
I Use these Zalman 5.1 Headphones, they dont come with an attached mic, on a boom, but the sound quality is awesome!, especialy if you have a good soundcard, and turn the Bass up high! i purchased a set that came with a seperate mic, as an all-in-one package, as shown HERE and as you can see the price is VERY good, i have had a few headsets and these are by far the greatest quality, for comfort, and durability hope this helps Des
FWF.Osteo
I love my Medusa Speedlink 5.1 headphones with integral mic but I'm afraid you being an audiophile, Desmond, to make a strong recommendation! http://www.medusa-usa.com/medusa-51-home-e...75e8fa1b1ab81cd
GRIN_Lufo
If I got you correct you were looking for a headset right? a headphone/microphone combo? Ive used both pure gaming headsets and a normal pair of headphones together with a microphone. Im using a pair of Beyerdynamic studio headphones together with a logitech desktop microphone atm, works great ! http://www.webhallen.com/prod.php?id=42165 for the microphone (If your from sweden that is ) if you want a smaller one I would recomend http://www.webhallen.com/prod.php?id=25539 I would prefer this combo over any headset I've tested so far.. Enos Pork
I've been using Sennheiser PC-150 with the USB-connection and Plantronics DSP-500. The Plantronics headset have the best sound quality byt Sennheiser have the best quality combined with great sound and a superb mic. Plantronics Audio 90 (mentioned above) have a good reputation but they actually feel kinda "sladdriga" (swedish, dunno a good english word for it, opposite to stable) and you cant buy spare parts for them as you can with Sennheiser. As for me I'm looking for a headset with 5.1 sound and force feedback. Preferably from Sennheiser (actually we had a special discount on both PC-160 and Audio 90 for participants in our big LAN this weekend. To bad you can't attend )
Buehgler_AS
At least 2-3 of us at Alpha are firm believers in the Sennheiser PC-150. Good sound quality combined with a very clear mic all in a nice functional and durable package. I'm guessing the PC-160 will be similar, but I have not used them nor do I know anyone with them yet. You know Alpha Squad only requires you to have TS installed and that you are able to listen to and understand commands from the team leader to play coop GR on our public server. But we appreciate your desire to be a full participant in some coop play [My appologies for the shameless plug. We did play the beta GRAW (all in coop) last night and clearly Grin has made great progress toward supporting coop play, but I still think if a few of them would spend a few hours playing some high quality GR missions they would develop a whole new perspective on what why we are such rapid GR fans... Ok, now I'll appologize for taking this off topic]
Flash_07
Sennheiser HD555 Open Dynamic Hi-FI Stereo Headphones are nice, but dont really block out the background noise too much. Sennheiser HD215 Closed Stereo Monitoring Headphone block out sound and give good listening quality Sennheiser HD212PRO Closed Stereo Monitoring Headphone for the budget minded. Any ol logitech/plantronics separate mic will sound fine to everyone else, put your own listening first ! If you definitely want a headset package Sennheiser Communications PC 165 USB is good value. Better sound than the icemat gear, and no loose giggly wires !
WhiteKnight77
For TS, I use just a $15 pair of Labtek headphones. Since all I have plugged in in the mic, I am not worried about sound quality over the speakers although they do sound pretty good.
ROCO*AFZ*
Also note be careful with some USB headphones. They have there own soundcard that is way under par to an X-fi for example. I had a logitech like that... sound quality was poor compared to what the sound card had.

You can remove the "USB-soundcard" and plug it into your real soundcard if you like.

And I love them! Seriously, one of the best upgrades I've made for GRAW. Everything in my ears is surrounding me...all real-like. It rocks! And the mic works wonders too. Haven't had any issues yet! Skidmark
I myself use Logitech Premium 350's. Very comfortable, great sound, and a powerful mic. IrishStout
What about the Audio FX's one's that have been reviewed and recommended? I know they are not great for music and movies .. but everything I have read say they are great for games... yes I know a little gimmicky with the lights and all? I just bought a pair but have not tried them ... then again it looks like the Headset's you are looking at might be well out of my price range at the moment.. Thanks in advance - and see you on Saturday! There's only one, "Speed-Link 5.1 Medusa", they rock, Sound range is great, weight medium, comfort excellent and build quality, sound field 9.5/10. You hardly notice them and the mic is removable and the unit powers from the USB and picks up sound from the 3 sound jacks on any sound card. With 8 speakers built in, 1x front left, 1x front right, 2x center 1x rear left, 1x rear right ,2x sub bass There are different verions, you want the PRO GAMER (SL-8793) See links REVIEW http://www.upgradeadvisor.com/content/progamer.aspx http://www.rbmods.com/Articles/Speedlink/Sl-8793/1.php http://www.speedlink.de/prod.php?lang=de&a...rod_num=SL-8793 BUY Germany http://www.gamespirit.de/index.php/cat/c53_Speed-Link.html Sweden http://www.shg.biz/link.asp?goto=infobox&a...s/630811/prices http://www.prisjakt.nu/produkt.php?p=87799 UK http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronic...et/Product.html http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Sur...d_Headsets.html p.s. use the latest EAX drivers for your sound card http://developer.creative.com/articles/art...p=38&aid=46 I use these everyday and there the best. With 8 speakers built in, 1x front left, 1x front right, 2x center 1x rear left, 1x rear right ,2x sub bass I use the Medusa 5.1 too "Home Edition" (the latest version of the package containing the updated amplifier box). http://www.medusa-usa.com/medusa-51-home-edition-p-876.html http://www.upgradeadvisor.com/content/home_edition.aspx Note, the different Medusa 5.1 versions are actually the same exact headset. The Pro-gamer comes with a transport bag for LAN parties etc, that's the only difference and the Pro gamer does not have the new updated amplifier box. So there is no reason to go for that one unless you want a transport bag. Problem with Medusa's 5.1's are: no mute button for mic, and tiny bass from rear speakers. Otherwise they are nice with good vib/base effect too, however needs to tweak the settings abit to get it right. Previously I used the Sennheiser PC150 which has great and better sound than Medusa's, but only stereo. With the Medusas I possibly get a slight better enemy position feel from the 5.1 feature, but honestly it's not that much difference... I would recommend you to go for a quality stereo one. The Sennheiser PC150 is much lighter than the Medusas too, and has extremely high over all quality and good support/warranty. Sennheiser PC 150 Medusa 5.1 Home PS Actually, I find it funny that you Des ask us for advise, I was kind of hoping you'd give us your expert opinion of what headset to use for GRAW... TimberWolf
I use the Turtle Beach HPA amplified 5.1 headset with my X-Fi sound card and I love it. Checkem out. GreyHaired
Something "icy" should fit for Sweden. winter's on its way....... http://www.icemat.com/products/icematsiber...siberia_headset http://www.icemat.com/where_to_buy/europe/sweden although some claim their mousepads are better. Sennheiser and Plantronics are always a goodquality buy. Price is another item.
