I also signed up a few days ago.. but I am wondering if they will pick guys from the GR.Net fourms.. when signing up UBI requested my UBI forum alias.. I never go on the UBI forum.. hopefully that will not hurt my chances???

oh, i wouldn't be too worried. free labor is still in high demand, last i checked.

When I first saw this I was "OOOOH, Excited" and signed up. But then I re-read it this afternoon and the "spin" kinda ticked me off. They make it sound like they've "given" us something for free with these patches out of the goodness of their heart when they've only fixed bugs and added game modes that should have been there from the beginning.

I'm glad to hear the next patch "WILL CONTAIN" an [GR] Coop mode and Admin Tools, BUT.

Are the people at UBI so far distanced from reality to believe the game that was released was complete and they've done us a favor with the first 2 patches?

Glad i'm not the only one thinking this kind of thing....

I've signed up anyway, but not expecting to get chosen or anything. I'll give it a go if it helps fix the game.

You need to sign up at Ubi and give them the account details. This is so you can access the beta forum that will be set up there.

If they had promised that one of the feature to be tested was quick save in SP mode, I would sign up for sure. I hope that I am not the only one who plays SP and are missing this feature. I like the game very much, but this issue is really bugging me. In other words; I often get killed. ;-)

Over the last two months we delivered two free and exclusive multiplayer packs for GRAW PC that included Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Hamburger Hill modes. In the UBISOFT tradition of taking the game experience even further, we are happy to offer one final multiplayer pack for the Ghost Recon community.

Unless there are dedicated server files within the new map pack you may as well not bother as it will all be a waste of time.

No one plays online due to this reason and I for one cant understand why all the effort being put in for about 100 or so players. This number wont change if the dedi files arnt there. It makes no sense at all.

As i have repeatadly said no dedicated server files no game.

OK. You're right. No SADS, no game. Sure. Yep. Got it. Et cetera.

AD FREAKIN' NAUSEUM!

Apparently, the good folks at GRiN were listening like 2 months ago when it was announced taht we'd have the SADS files by summer's end, and later it was clarified taht it would be THIS FORTHCOMING MAP PACK!

For those who've been neglecting their reading skills in favor of rants...

Like me, for instance...

LOL depends what you mean by dedicated? Dedicated means no one playing it. it just sits on the server. GRAW does this.

Now if dedicated means no video acceleration needed to you, then you weren't a GR1 fan because it needed a 16mb card.

GRAW requires a 128mb of ANY flavor.. yes even my TI4600 Ultra could serve.

What graw doesn't have is kick/ban... but... some of us have another way to do that. Now what it does need that is hopefully in the next patch is the ability to change settings live via a password admin login. That GR1 did have.

When is anybody supposed to know if the beta testing has started. They said at the end of August (UBI being very vague as normal) and it's getting close. So probably next week.

You are probably right about next week. Hopefully alot of us get to do it this time. There is alot that needs to be checked to make sure everything is working properly.

I plan on making a couple test maps and checking them out to see if the editor is working good. Well...im actualy gonna try to test everything if i can with in the week but i am just one person...lol I hope a couple mappers get in on the beta testing to help find the bugs in the editor.

Im not much for single player but ill give that a whirl too. It would be vitualy impossible to check every single player mission 100% though in one week.

Lol...im not gonna know where to start...has anyone set up some kind of stratagy to try to get the most out of the weeks worth of testing?

Has anyone received any sort of confirmation of getting in (or denied) to Beta Test? Just curious. Haven't heard anything myself... Ok, so I'm antsy... SOOO!!!

Too funny, you should see the posts about you in there!

Tinker

Sure, Tinker, add to my insecurity! <_<

I beta tested FarCry m/p when Crytek was with UBI. You'll receive an email and all the instructions that you need. They'll most likely set up a beta testers forum too.

Why don't you sign for beta? Really, even if you are a pain in the butt you at least try (in a manner which I don't find agreable, but that is not the point) to make the game better.
