Hockeystick 0
I guess it should work fine. Tho I bet you can't run Oblivion on "very high" settings It's the same thing with GRAW. I have a P4 3.6 GHz 2 gig RAM Radeon X850XT (256Mbt) Changed my settings to high through the "renderer_settings.xml" file. Everything high except for, texture_quality_ground texture_quality_silhouettes texture_quality_buildings I left those on "medium", otherwise I get black squares everywhere. Resolution at 1280 x 800 @ 75 AA 4 x cheers Edited July 22, 2006 by Hockeystick

I got basically same specs as you except i got a x600.. not a hi-end card. What u playin? Co Op? DOM DM? whats ur speed connection? When i create i literally have no lag at all in game. Runs smooth. with 3 other peeps w pings between 75 to 200. ( I got a very good connection.) Only probs i had so farwas when i JOIN a australian n HK host. On DOM (arg what a bore) w 16 ppl on i got lil lag. or a game that got peeps w hi pings..like 300 n over!. try to avoid it maybe. I try to play with server from my area.. I often see ping as low as 70 on my server. From what i see so far u need a good connection to enjoy the game. peeps w pings higher than 200-250 got disconnected sometimes from my server. peace. chck ur speed? test. System?: AMD Athlon 64 3200+ ~2.02 GHz XFX GeForce 6800 GT 256 2GB RAM ASUS A8N-SLI mb HERE is where I initially had issues with the laggy gameplay: VIDEO DRIVERS! Try downloading and installing the ForceWare 91.33 BETA driver. Made a HUGE difference in playability for me. ALSO, the PhysX drivers (even if you don't have that card, and you shouldn't) v2.4.3 I think. Whatever it's up to, install that as well. It helps. If neither of the above helps, also think about a defrag and maybe even doing a clean reinstall of system. Had some minor issues lately related to the condition of my hard drive and OS. Since Wondows XP Home is being reinstalled right now, that should go away as well. All the crap I've installed over the last year tht I don't need running in the background will be gone, and that is MAD important in GRAW. Another angle on the hardware issue? Buy an AMD, dude. ROCO*AFZ* 0
Actually a hyperthreading intel will give you more advantages over a non dual core amd due to being able to run graw maxing one thread and teamspeak and other things in the other. if your just running the game and nothing else amd will win but multitasking was intel's thing until amd got there dual core (which did not do as much for intel as they already had hyperthreading) And now to present. Currently Core 2 duo will beat the AMD fx line. Not by much though in real world gaming, but nvidia now is making intel chipsets with there new nforce's and dual pci express so expect intel in the lead for a while. (amd and intel are both coming out with quad core... but most apps are only single threaded so unless amd's thoughts on reverse hyperthreading work (4 cores into 1 thread) quad core ain't going to do squat for anyone for the next 2 years.) The new core 2 duo is at the same watt as amd, and rumor has it can run without a fan (just a heatsink) at full load and not even down throttle due to heat. Expect amd to drop prices when this released to try to compete as intel is dropping them at the same price as there current line of dual cores which is less then amd. Feels like holding heavy weapon. Im trying to convince myself that it's realism. Guess a 512mb is needed to fully appreciate this game.
