Lead Salad
Just to clarify, it is not a "kill cam" that's been implemented. It's a "death cam", being able to spectate through the eyes of your remaining team mates when you are dead and have no respawns left. Excellent. I understand why people might want an actual killcam, to catchhackers or debunk hack accusations, but the drawback is worse. Can people not see the problem with a killcam? You have a good position. Someone gets to see their death through your eyes. Now, they know where you are. Good hack catcher or not, I don't want something like that giving away my position. That would suck. I disagree. Camping around in one spot, even if it is a great one, becomes boring quickly fro me. I like to move around continuously-and seeing how I get owned by someone is just as enjoyable as doing the killing as far as I'm concerned-but that's just me bro. XLs
Kill Cam = Option to turn on or off, if it is implemented. Death Cam = Great for those that die. Would there be just a spectators mode? as in [GR]? (I'll take not yet) Replays should be close by. This will help with Matching, Cheaters, Hackers.
Logos
But surely you should keep moving anyway Not necessarily. There are plenty of situations where you might want to stay and hold a position for a couple of minutes. If in that situation you are close to their spawnzone, they can get back to your position pretty quickly. Not to mention, if you are always advancing, someone will eventually whine that you're spawn-raping. In domination, in theory, a team should advance across the map slowly, carefully, and methodically so that no squad opens up a flank. You might at times find it necessary to hold a position rather than advance. Also, if you have advanced across the map, have a firefight in a zone on "their" side of the map, and win the firefight despite some people on your side in the fight getting killed, should you advance alone? No. Should you retreat and give up the territory you've held? No. You should hold position, try to not let the enemy advance, and wait for your team to respawn and catch up with you before advancing again. It might take a minute or two for the team to catch up if they're not respawning on the leader. Then, there are snipers. Do the math with them. Again, I don't want to give up ANYTHING to the opposite team, much less my position.
IrishStout
I would prefer Spec Mode like [GR]... nothing worse then getting shot early in a TDM match and then staring at a blank screen. Wonder if it will have a 3rd view as well? GR you could cycle through a few views. It was good becasue it allowed the dead people to still contribute.. One thing I did not read in the little UBI blurb was.. is Spec Mode for all Game Types? Just so no one gets there expectations ruined No mention of Dedi Files? Hopefully there will be another update in the near future Sounds like everythings on the right track at least.. by the way ... Test, test, test .. then test some more . then release.. would be great if you could let a few hard core guys in to see what you have already? Keep up the good work GRIN P.S. with Hamburger Hill I am hoping we will be able to restrick weapon selection? I see what you're saying... but don't agree entirely I tend to think that even if you do have a good position to hold, its not always wise to stay put. But maybe this is a topic for another thread - I fear the "Off Topic" police are watching and waiting to strike - so time to move out and take cover in another thread.... If you stay in one spot you will probably be blown to pieces.

}PW{ Postal
Seeings how there is no mention of Dedi files i would probably be correct in assuming they are not going to be in this patch....correct? Although i am very excited about the new stuff that is coming...i am finding myself wondering why no Dedi's yet. Do you guys think they are going to release all the map packs and game types first that way they can have all that inplace before the Dedi's come out? sui317
i think Ubi Daddy (server) and mother with her eternal Grin have yet to make their love child or it is still in daddies wet dreams i think they will make the game play patch babies first but i hope for a twin .... Do you guys think they are going to release all the map packs and game types first that way they can have all that inplace before the Dedi's come out? Sometime after the 1.20 release it was stated that the SADS/dedi's will be out in the AUGUST patch. IF they happen to make it onto the JULY release by some miracle, that'd be great. I wouldn't count on having them anytime before 31 August. And then if they DO show up earlier than that, it'll be a pleasant surprise! Not to jump the gun, but
thr0tt
I will judge if its released but looking at the contents I feel its uninstall time for me. Good SP which I have finished a couple of times, glad they sorted priorities out.
.priZm.
I hope the game modes (TDM/HH) each have their own maps , instead of having to share. I just hope this patch will keep my GR:AW game installed a bit longer as I wasn't too impressed with the 1.16 patch which also created high anticipation before its release. Nonetheless, failed to increase the numbers in MP.
semperfi_bohica
Trust, but verify. Side note, that art work, called screen shots, has the Mryc ejecting shells froma case-less rifle. Nice.
NoQuarter
Don't complain about the present until after you open it (hey this sounds familiar!). I wanna send a virtual kick in the junk to whomever at UBI wrote that press release. Ubi ain't so bad...they sent me a birthday card the other day, can you say the same? I could hold off on wanting the dedicated, if they would #1 fix the anticheat #2 Fix the auto kick for teamkill (still doesn't kick them) #3 Give me a ban + kick button (or at least resolve a name to an ip to a name so my ipblocker can kick them. silent_op
The news of a new patch is good to read. However, can someone at GRIN tell me if the new patch will have any new CO-OP features? I'm talking about features such as, CO-OP Map Editor, [GR] CO-OP, and Dedicated Server Files. silent_op Edited July 22, 2006 by silent_op
