i had this question on my mind for some time

how do you play graw ?

in SP or MP because i notice i play different and i never played [GR] tdm or DOM for that matter, only Co-op with friends

in the first SP round for me i noticed i got rushed by the storyline and the TV narrator

now i try to ignore most of that and only follow the green square bread crum trail

try not to look at the map that much and be more stealthy

this did bring more [GR] feel to my experiance and i wonder how that is with other players

in MP i often join for half an hour or an hour a day,

i try to walk slow or get a good point to stalk from or camp from,

or when in bad luck and only with the m9 i try to go to zones to capture or camp in corners

but with the m9 i also become more bold, and try to out gun others in a moving manner

i can not really play my [GR] coop style, because this is not coop but DOM (which in dutch means stupid .... never mind) but i try...

dom has potential but often there is the obvious rusher in the game or more which well is not my favorite player type (i played CS:S and get so frustrated with the running man attitude but it is catchy like the flu, or like the TV narrator in SP)

but i did find the [GR] feel in SP and sometimes in DOM which surprized me and pleased me

so what about others out there, how do you play and what does it resemble for you ?

95% of the time so far is Single Player. I listen to the in game instructions only to make sure I know what I'm supposed to do, other than kill stuff. What little MP I've done is all Co-Op.

It's alway nice to know how other play, i like sometime to watch my friends play this way i can learn what to do or not. It also sometime nice to just notice different style of playing. Some are slow, some are fast, some have good reflexe, other use strategy.

I'm probably the kind of player you don't like

My style is base of offensive. I alway attack, because if i don't i die... Speed is my key weapon mixed with strategy and carefull lisenning to sound that allow me to know where all enemy are. Since i really have no talent for aiming this mix allow me to win most of the time.

So in GRAW i would say that in the first wave of attack, i can probably, most of the time, hold the enemies team in dom (Depending the skill or the number of enemie and if they play in team).

I also tend to move following the tactical system of GRAW. So, if i don't win by the killing i win by the point...

As for the singleplayer, i am currently making a series of video of me finishing all level of GRAW at hard... I might publish them one day or not... anyway, i just make that because i got lot of free time those days... The question is where to put videos of + - 300meg....

Back to the subject... Basicaly i am also really fast in singleplayer and most people dislike that in coop, because i get all the fun........ So i can't wait to create missions where i will be force to slow down a bit. As for the story, it only slow me down because sometime get over a trigger before it get activate by the story, so i have to get back....

If you really want to see how i play there is alway

(a remake and extended version of a video i posted some days ago on youtube and gave a link here on the forum, i haded 2 min of the game, i found a more compact codex).

Basicaly thats me playing in DM... It's hard to make interesting video of GRAW without editing it... lot of calm moment and action is short... so enjoy! (and don't stole my style of gameplay  )

I try to stick to my OG roots and play each mission as slowly as possible. I've got further in online coop than in SP mode (for various reasons <_< ) and I don't play DOM at all (tried it and decided not to try it again for a long long time. I've learned to ignore the urgency in the narcom voices, for example, the guy makes it sound like you have to leg it to the soldiers in the "quarterback" mission. This was my favourite mission while I still believed in you had to go as fast as possible, but it became less exciting once I realised it makes no difference how fast you go. Its still good, thoough.

So I'd say I play as slowly as possible in SP so i can cover lots of angles and as fast as i need to in online coop. Which invariably means running to keep up with everyone and putting myself inbetween the enemy and the TL just so the game lasts longer than 3min :P

I try to avoid servers where people play the missions on easy so they can learn where everyone is, so they can just run there and shoot them without being careful next time. Hate that.

I like servers with limited deaths. Otherwise there's no incentive not to run & gun.

First, when in a zone with an enemy, I try to find them rather than just run to the next zone looking for points.

Then, I try to take a strategic position in the zone I think the enemy might may be heading to next.

If I am correct, I try to prevent them from capturing the zone. If successful, I advance & try to take the next enemy zone.

Of course, this is much more fun & successful if you have a teammate or 2 on TeamSpeak or Ventrilo. Even if you don't, on a RARE occasion you can find someone willing to cover your back.

I truly enjoy the Single Player campaign. I'm sure I would also, therefore, LOVE to play the COOP version with my clanmates.

As for MP, I prefer DOMINATION for the time being. Once the long-awaited TDM/TvT/TLMS comes out, I feel certain that it'll take over the #1 spot for me in mode most played. It's what I grew-up on, so to speak. It's what dragged me out of DooM3 MP and the likes, for my love of teamwork.

Style? Slow and low, that is the tempo. (Name the band, young'uns) METHODICAL is what I strive for. As it should be. Every last reposition, round out, or communication should be considered, planned, rehearsed, drilled, and then executed. Blahblahblah. It's worth striving for, anyhow. Well, in SP.

MP style? Run around and get PWNed. Y'all know that already....

In Sp, I love to take it slow. I find where the next objective is and work my way towards it by using the Tac Map.

I open the Sat Map up, and find a point where i want to move to next. Once I have found a point to move to, I use the AI to give cover street by street till I get there. Then rinse, repeat till objective met. the reason I do this, is because it is rewarding to make it through witout losing a man, and to know my plan worked the way I had hoped it would.

MP is alittle different. Some nights when Im not in the right frame of mind or tired i should say, I tend to rush alot of things i normally would take slower when fully alert. Those nights are not good ones.

But when Im on my game, I can run with the big dogs. I like to find the most disputed zones and systematically take the enemy out of there so my team can have the zone. Im not a zone whore so to speak, but I love takin g zones against overwhelming odds so I will camp a zone that seems the enemy wants. I tend to camp, but not in a campy way. I will kill from one spot, then move to another in the same general location, and kill whoever comes in next looking for me in my old spot. Its always great watchig an enemy peak a corner he thinks your behind, as you shoot him in the back of the head.

But that is me, and how I play. now I have to change my name ingame so you dont know my style :(

I play SP and MP the same way: Ears and eyes at 100% awareness, and finger is always on the trigger. I'm constantly checking my flanks, looking around, walking, not sprinting.

The second I see an enemy, I either crouch, raise my sights, and fire off a burst, or get behind cover, lean out, raise the sights, and burst again.

If I'm caught in a CQC battle suddenly, I don't crouch and stay still. I move around, switching from crouch to standing positions multiple times. This saved me many times in AA.

beastie boys

i play only when i have a teammate on vent. trying to remain loyal to the idea of "move and cover"

*great music the B-Boys

had some great DOM experiances with good players on that move and cover idea

even without voip it is possible to do so in game,

and that interaction without words but just

the mutual understanding makes it rewarding to play,

though it is not often to have that

(that for me is kinda the [GR] feel team work and slow moving)

oh and tow angel you forgot a sore bottom :P
