ingeloop
hi there! i seem to have a problem with my screen res. when playing desrt siege. in options i have set the screen for 800*600*32bit and the zbuffer to 32 bit. but when the missions begin the z-buffer is not set to any bit at all and the only option that you can pick is 16 bit. i have a mac g4 733mhz 512 ram and a 32 mb geforce 2mx card. i hope anyone can me/ mikael
Dark Ranger
My guess is that it's your video card. It cannot render higher than 16Bit Z-Buffer in-game. Upgrade your card to a GF4 or equivalent.
ingeloop
hi and thanx! i think you´re right about my card. im thinking about buying a ati radeon 8500 64mb. will that do the trick? /Mikael
Dark Ranger
That card will work great for ya. As for Z-Buffer, I have a GF4 Ti4200, and can only access the 16 and 24Bit Z-Buffers. I don't know if it is possible to render at 32Bits Z for GR with current game engine design. But you will gain a substancial performance increase upgrading from a GF2. Let me know how it works for you. Sincerely,
Stinger
On a side note I don't know if it is possible to render at 32Bits Z for GR with current game engine design I am pretty sure somebody here said they had done it before...
