Druac_Blaise
Most shooters are not expanded on in regards to SP for free. In other words, you don't usually get more SP content in a shooter until an expansion is released and you pay for it. As for the emphasis on MP...you are seeing this in regards to patches because the game was released with an incomplete MP mode. Also, the longevity of a shooter game (which helps with expansion sales, etc.) is usually extended by robust MP community. Meaning that MP keeps people playing the game long enough to develop and sell more expansions or new versions of said shooter game. Fletch
I finally finished the SP campaign. I have to say this was one of the best out of the box games I have bought, even with the glitches and crashes. Sure they were annoying but I learned to adapt and over come. I plan on playing these missions over and over. Now As soon as they fix the Co-Op side I'll have even more fun. The Blueberry_EBDA
For one,SP is not dead.Just look at the consol world. Two, this might not be the game for you. Three, they do need to fix some of the SP stuff, some issues will be addressed in the July Patch from what I read.Hope its what everyone wants.I doubt all of us will be happy though. As for me I havent played any SP Since the demo.I prefere MP.To easy to beat the bots.As soon as they bring out the MP we all love,Im sure I will play the game more than I do now.Since I play with a clan.We play what works best as a team.Right now that aint GRAW.But,It will be if the patch wows us.Its a shame they came out with the one game type for MP we were all trying to get away from.It broke alot of hearts.A bitter pill floats in the air because of it.They are really going to have to pull out the stops if they dont want this boat to float or they are going to have to turn it into a submarine.LOL Just remember this is the first shot over the bow.You are going to have to step up and upgrade your putter if your going to hang with the pc.Pc games will continue to be the creme of the crop.My puter runs the game fine, although I cant enjoy all that it has to offer. To me thats good.Future proof.I think if they get there act together with all these patches,it will be a tacticly sound game. Will it be the great MP Ladder driver we had hoped for?Only you can say. Fletch
If you think the AI is easy (and you played on Hard) I am envious of your skills. I thought the Demo was easy also and when I played the game it started out the same. As it progressed the AI got harder and the game more challenging. Suddenly I found myself having to repeat the same missions over and over cause the AI was kicking my butt. It really forced me to think about what to do next. Traveler
I just finished and I have to say , that was a good game. If the coop and single player scripting tools arrive in July it will not die. Mp was not the only thing that kept [GR] going. I played single player only for the first year before ever playing an mp game.
Low Profile
I play missions all the time via a LAN game. I don't use the single player interface, but still get the single player experience in my opinion. Only beneift to the single player interface is save points. Don't really find the need for them personally. It's more rewarding to beat each mission in one shot and via a LAN game I can choose to play the missions solo or with a certain number of AI. Those options are missing from single player. I personally don't like anything about the friendly AI. This is why I'm a big COOP player. The AI aren't worth my time. The missions take much longer using the AI as designed. I don't have time for that and don't enjoy crawling through each mission every single step of the way. There could have least been rules of engagement for the friendly AI. It's like no good ideas from the prior Tom Clancy games were even considered for this game. Back in the day I was playing and beating Rogue Spear missions using the observation mode only. You had to setup up your teams waypoints and orders ahead of time, then give the go codes throughout the mission. No making adjustments on the fly either. Best of all, the AI did exactly what they were ordered to do. You had to really learn each mission prior to attempting this successfully, but when you did it was simply awesome! To make the experience even more rewarding you could record your missions via replays. This is another missing element from GRAW, replays. If introduced, replays should be available for both single player and multiplayer. In any event, as for single player being dead, I'm not really sure what that's supposed to mean. The game is just all bugged no matter how you play (at least for me it is) and if you ask me, everyone got the shaft out the gate. We were given a single player campain, coop mission mode, 2 mp game modes now, no Last Man Standing, no usable observations modes, no replays, not to mention a slew of other core features any modern day game should have not to be found. As for new content, I would rather see no new content with resources devoted to fixing the current bugs and adding core game components which should have been part of this game when it was released, game types being one of them, both single player/coop games types, and adversarial game types using the current maps. Only after the game resembles a somewhat polished product should new game content be introduced, such as new missions, maps, weapons, and so forth. It would be irresponsible to do so otherwise in my opinion. The only reason the 360 version of the game has gotten new content already is because it was a complete and polished product out the gate, the Ghost Recon 2 I would have loved to see for the PC. When GRAW is up to snuff it will be great to enjoy some new content. Until that time, I'm not particularly yearning for any. kretzj
I just finished and I have to say , that was a good game. If the coop and single player scripting tools arrive in July it will not die. Mp was not the only thing that kept [GR] going. I played single player only for the first year before ever playing an mp game. Yeah, same here. It was at least a year with [GR] before I even hosted my own game for just local friends. The SP stuff was awesome, and when the tools and guides arrived for IGOR the SP maps started flowing... that was an awesome time... there were new SP maps posted daily back then. Some weren't so good, but others were good enough IMHO that they should have been official Expansion Packs from Ubi. Someone made the comment "This game might not be for you", which I find both poetic and sad. I posted in another thread that if this game DIDN'T carry the Ghost Recon name, I probably wouldn't have paid the money for it. I guess that point about GRAW not being for me could be accurate... I don't care for the Sci-Fi, arcade-driven in game video BS, etc. [GR] had a simplicity to it that allowed me to immerse into the game. For example, the tac map. Shift-Key down to see it, let up to make it go away. You could swap between live action and tac in less than a second and have a good idea of your situational awareness. Not in GRAW. They call it a tactical shooter but it's far more strategic than they care to admit. Oh well. I didn't see ANY mention of SP tools in the July patch, either. That has me concerned again. We'll see. I still have [GR] I guess. OH... are there any modders on this thread that are / would consider making SP maps when (or if) the tools are released, or is the desire for MP so strong that it would be a low priority? -jk Callsign 3Point
VeLocityChaos
Is SP dead? No, I dont think the SP is dead. Well its dead to me now. Ive played and finished it almost 4 times. I definitley got my moneys worth out of the SP portion of the game. The Coop side of SP is definitley lacking. But SP did what it was supposed to do. It entertained me, and I came back for more. I rarely ever play a SP more than once or twice. [GR] sp on the other hand...ive probably played hundreds of times. Simply because of all the different ways you can play it. Going through the campaign with pistols only (only bringing the backup kit on friendly AI when needed) has got to be one of the funnest ways Ive ever played a SP campaign. But, all in all, there is some good amount of replayability in GR:AW SP, its just missing one key thing that [GR] SP had just like the MP does. You either know what Im saying...or you dont. Either way, its missing.

kretzj
[GR] SP - How true. Even today I played more [GR] SP. And yes, I've completed all of the standard + expansion pack missions in vet firefight mode with just a silenced M9 pistol. Now there's a challenge! That's what will give GRAW a chance... I would love to start downloading new SP stuff for GRAW. I would probably re-install it once those start showing up. Guess that tells you my current opinion of GRAW, huh?
