thales100
I have decided to add yet another rifle, it is the British made Accuracy International .50 cal AS50 and has just done its first field tests so this rifle is EXTREMELY new and I really wanted to be the first to include this rifle plus it is a truly awesome rifle. I will have a pic coming soon, the pic I just got is good extreme detail but it is literally in pieces so I'll have to put it together and then I'll get a pic here ASAP. Rifle Hehe , you wont be the first to include it, as ive already made a version to Sniper Cannon 2, its really a hard rifle to find good pictures. Rifle_001
But has anyone done the AS50 with incendiary rounds designed to penetrate armor?
callmehobbes
I like the sound of that. Does anyone know who actually uses the AS50 ( I think it was designed for the US SF - but that doesn't mean they've adopted it).

Rifle_001
It was created by Accuracy International (which is British) for the Navy Seals

Rifle_001
Since for some odd reason my renderer doesn't work so the sharpness of the picture isn't great but here is my Glock 39 model. P.S. I'm also sorry about the tacky red planes as the background
SnowFella
Still using Gmax to model? If so it asfar as I can remember comes without the render engine that a full version of 3dsm has.
Rifle_001
Yeah, I'm still using gmax I do not yet have $300 thats not a college fund and there are a couple of third party renderers for gmax. One is called Render Suite (I couldn't get it to work but I did once and its a piece of s**t) the other is called YafRay and while it takes a while to get the lighting right it is capable of a lot. Rifle_001
Hey, what happens when I put a model into the game with no texture? Why would anyone want to put an untextured model in GR? Well, remember when I said that I wanted to put incendiary rounds in the AS50, well I want to treat the bullet as a projectile so that there is a small explosion on impact and it will be moving at the speed of a regular bullet and won't be seen so I don't even want to make a texture for it (the AS50 has enough polys anyway, one less texture might improve performance). SnowFella
It will end up looking exactly like it would if you were missing a texture, ie light grey.
Rifle_001
I see, that helps
SnowFella
Then again...a projectile texure for something like that doesn't really need to be any bigger than 64x64 and that won't affect performance at all!
Rifle_001
dang, but oh well saves me some trouble.
Rifle_001
Just got my Accuracy International L115A1 .338 Super Magnum textured and modelled and I would have to say that this is my best model yet but put what you think since it is indeed ineffective to rate your own work (be honest). Here it is:
Foxtrot360
I think it looks cool. I would say that it looks kinda boxy/squareish around the pistolgrip though, and that the texture looks like it should be more green instead of grayish? The union jack flag is a nice detail. =) Good job, wanna see a kit with that and a Glock 39.
Rifle_001
Yeah, the grip isn't chamfered because I was already over my budget of 3,500 polys. As for the flag, once you see my background pic for my mod you'll see why I did that. And here is my model for the Accuracy International .50 Caliber AS50 (that fires incendiary rounds!):
CommandoCrazy
very nice indeed Foxtrot360 is right about the grip, but you won't see it in-game so why put unnecessary detail in it? Keep up the good work, mate. CC
migryder
nice one Rifle...anxious to see the completed M89 for the game....

Rifle_001
I got a couple quick questions: 1) How do I know how big my gun will look in the game? 2) For the Swiss Sig Sauer SSG 3000 I don't know whether or not I should put the bipod on it. Without the bipod it has around 3777 polys and that already passes my preferable budget of 3500 polys and with the bipod it has 4228 polys. Can modern processors handle this? Also I have my render/screenshot for the Czech CZ 700 M1:
