GIJoe*Shockwave
The lack of players is the lack of MP game types and options and deciceted servers files and anti cheat, so much is still missing from GRAW MP that theres no point in your clan to play online when so few maps and guns and crappy broswer with no options. And cant have our own server and have control over to kick or ban cheaters. Its been said many times over this game is not finished. So why would anyone who was a GR1 freak play it online. Just hopefully by x-mas game will be done and released all patched up for 19.99 and get some TvsT action going again. Till then GRAW just sits on my harddrive waiting for next big MP patch that will hopefully bring us back online.
prolificone
Ok most of the talk has been about Dedis... those will be great for those that plan on running or admining servers BUT I will speak about people that I personally know and why they are not playing GRAW... Most of them do not have a PC that is good enough to run it smoothly. My clan that just recently split up in Raven Shield is the example I offer. Some dont have the money or ability to continually upgrade their PC or get a new one every year. They can still run Raven and some other games so they are sticking to those until they get an upgrade... I dont think I have known a game that had such a huge hardware requirement jump compared to other games on the market. Thanks to my upgrade for GRAW my other games are running on the highest settings without so much as a drop of sweat hehe.... and now many gamers are just playing the games they know until they finally get that upgrade to be able to smoothly run GRAW, the fact that this game is splitting up clans (not emotionally) makes it hard for the clanmates with good computers to stick around and play it nightly. NOW, there are many other reasons too, this is just the biggest that I noticed But if I took a poll of all the gamers that I know that play alot of FPS MP games, but not GRAW, I bet that is the number one reason.... siiix
Also, the online experience is pretty dire even for the casual player - long load times, no deathcam - its like they've stepped back 6-7 years.... While there are valid reasons posted in this thread for the quiet servers, long load times is pushing it a bit, they are not bad at all IMO. Mind you, after playing BF2 anything seems to load in a flash by comparison you must be kidding me .. i play bf2 since it came out (800hours), i have a fast pc + fast HD and you say the load times are longer then BF2 ? Something must be wrong with your setup , bf2 has far longer map load time IMO is the lack of ranking / point system.. That is what made ppl addicted to BF2 it is simply frustrating that i lose my points and the weapons every time a new round starts graw gas far far better graphic, incomparable better maps, just about same team play capability still this will not kick in
Druac_Blaise
I want to play MPbut without direct ip connection I cant play. Thanks UBI for wasting my money.I uninstalled the game a month ago now since there hasnt been a fix for this. I agree...going with GameSpy was not a good idea. It seems to me they probably went this route to save time. We were posting for A LONG time before the game came out that we wanted direct IP support. You are correct...I know of at least 5 people I usually game with that can't play the game due to system requirements. I personally lucked out and had to buy a new system due to a Motherboard malfunction, so I got one for Christmas. I wouldn't be playing this game either, otherwise.
