pagey
Is anyone working on the old ghost recon map stronghold. A lot of people would like to know. I would love to see it. Maybe terrain elevations can be a problem tough?.
hardcore
I have seen some mmaps that had elevation in them so dont think that would be a problem as much as the ridges on the north side of the old gr map. aces.ghost
i have been working on a map sort of like stronghold it is call outpost. there is a base in the middle with trees and small hills around it. the outpost has a wall with openings and breachable fences at spots. the base is also the us spawn with the mex spawn out side. map will be released soon as TDM Click here for bigger image Click here for bigger image Click here for bigger image

Dimz_RR
Sorry to be off topic......... Was Stronghold a popular GR1 map? -John in my oopinionn , and alot of players i had more experience playing with , its was a solid map to get the hang of playing multi , but the spawns and lack of real cover outside the base was particularly draining the life from the map . i think everyone would like to see something like caves ( but boundaries made smaller ) village , but maybe with choke points , castle day/night , embassy , mp river was good fun (spawn fest but still a good map ) . those i think were the most played , from what my research shows . Poita
Funny you should ask John. It wasn't at first but me and my lads got to really love it late in the day. I mean, after a year or two. I guess some maps take a while to reveal their depth. Why dude did you work on that one. Edited July 5, 2006 by Poita

It seemed like a "slow burner" so I never really saw much feedback on it back then and felt it had some short comings. I was a little surprised to see it being re-made here. Poita
Nah you did a good job on strong hold dude. My best moment was in an open server on TDM. I was a sniper and had a semi quiet M98. there was a lage open grassy area near one of those two big rocks. I got settled down in one of those triangular tufts of grass. My team was way down and it was like 10 V 10 with 5 spawans each. Almost all my team was out and we were down about 10 kills. Anyway i racked up about 17 straight kills before i lost my first life. It was the perfect spot for a sniper. I could see for miles and by the time i shot them they had no clue where it was comming from. Anyway one of my best moments in 5 years of GR was on one of your maps dude.
jsonedecker
Cool story. It was a pretty simple design and fun to make, so I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I love the franchise and the 360 version, but personally do not care for the PC one at this point. I think it's great that others do and hope the game succeeds, but have no interest in modding the game, other than just keeping up with what is what. -John

We practiced for hours to learn how to throw a nade and hit the light fitting to kill a stubborn HH holder who hides in the south east6 corner with a GL and is almost impossible to move if they have a dead body telling him when to nade.. My team have spent many hours on that map getting tactics and plans just right so as to win it from any spawn on HH .. Well done dude !! rackrunner
Just started testing it out, initial impressions are varied. The outer map seems very open, not enough bushes to qualify as a stronghold type map. The inner area is pretty nice though. Is there any way to increase the amount of bushes and possibly get some type of green coloring to the map? The map reminds me of a desert map more than a jungle map, although I don't know if that is fixable. But from what I've seen so far, it has a lot of potential.
