startup problem

oke it is a bit difficult to explain so please bear with me while i try to explain.

i just installed the 7.84 drivers for my Radeon 9000. now each time when i reboot the pc i get a strange message, after the default win98 screen the screen turns black and there is some info in which it says C:\SET path%,"C:\program files\executive software\diskeeperlite\"; SET path=%path%;c:\progra~1\atitec~1\aticon~1

to much parameters : will this harm my system or is it harmless?

is there anything i can do to correct this?

i must tell you that after the screen turns black( like always, i think it shows you the content of the autoexec file ) windows starts like normal and everything runs fine.

you must have un-installed a program that the path is pointing to yet//

In which i presume you'll need to do it manually

info in which it says

C:\SET path%,

"C:\program files\

executive software\

diskeeperlite\

"; SET path======like C:/ or your main drive

then to your program files ,,,,,attec

%path%;c:\progra~1\atitec~1\aticon~1

~ this thing means it's in the same directory ,,doesn't it

i think it points to Diskeeper Lite and the Ati control panel, both are installed and running fine.

I 'm thinking it's harmless ..

an extra path it seems.

could it be it isn't finding the right folder for the ati control panel, it is in c:\program files\ati technologies\ati control panel\

would it be possible to uncheck it? so it won't show or should i just leave it?

Maybe try setting the path to it .

to correct the one that's going to the wrong place

solved it, moved it up a few places in the autoexec file and it works!!

thanks for helping me in the right direction -[NCM]-force, you have been a great help now i can go to bed and sleep well, it is 02.50 in the morning so i am getting a bit tired.

The format of that line doesnt seem correct. It is located in the autoexec.bat

I beleive the correct format for that should be.....

SET PATH =%path%;C:\program files\executive software\diskeeperlite;c:\progra~1\atitec~1\aticon~1

Try that and give us some feeback as to the results.
