Papa6 Posted June 25, 2006 Share Posted June 25, 2006 (edited) This is my map as it is now. Snipercity has tooTwo really long streets, tall skyscrapers an embassy alot of trees and cover. I'd say this map is about 70% complete and have a ways to go. It is set on a fictional city with long streets, many avenues of moving around, around the building alleys or via the streets. really getting used to the editor. i just need to get the deathmatch spawns setup and add some more props to the map. Here's some screens; And overhead, the center portion with the tall scrpers in the actual play area the restif IS just city filler over head screen; I can play the map without the spawn but I want to get this sucker right. The game is just aching for an open hilly forest terrain. I messed around with a map for about two hours the day the editor came out. When I exported to play it, it just CTD. In the Props layer there is a type called spawn_dummy, select this and place multiple spawn points in the level.(suggest areas inside or hidden to reduce spawn rapes) When you go to export it you choose Domination or Deathmatch mode ( it will show it when you hit export) and thats it. PS- also for Deathmatch do not put zone areas on map (ie-Alpha,Bravo,Charlie), just consider DM as one large zone. Dont have much tutorials and stuff yet to know how to do it. Id love to see a forest map with post effects off in the game. I bet it would look pretty nice. Papa6 Posted June 26, 2006 Author Share Posted June 26, 2006 well the 3dsmax thing is out of my league. I don't have either 3dsmax 7 or 8. So I got to with what I know or have. But I can do something that isn't city after this one sometime. weather permitting, been having T-storms lately and forseeable the rest of the week. If i can get a lull period enough to export this map, i could have it out in the forseeable week. I'd like to try my hand at some COOP maps too in the future. Why another city map? We got plenty of those... looks really nice though and I hope you do get it right. Because that's what most of the map items are for. go ahead and fire up YOUR editor and see what you come up with. Papa6 Posted June 27, 2006 Author Share Posted June 27, 2006 I did alot of testing of this map. i found on espawn location with an open gap to the edge of the map. I'm not at all pleased with my missing such a simple issue. But the spawns work fine anyway. I've tested the map afterwards and everything should be fine. since this is my first map I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.
