Reb
A thing thats been missing in multiplayer is the voice commands. I mean like in other games (RVS, BF2 etc) you have the "Roger that, defend!, cover me!" Right now when i'm playing in a team, it takes way to long to chat something. I think that this could be a good addition for GRAW to improve teamwork. What's your opinion about this? Damn, my english is getting worse everyday Edited June 20, 2006 by Reb
LT.INSTG8R
I will admit RS Lockdowns Voice commands worked pretty good for the AI as for in MP I would also agree some sort of quick messaging like BF2 would also be handy. In Co-op I wish the other players could hear the dialogue as of right now nobody hears anything but the TL

unwritt3n
yeah i really agree with this too.. Everyone notice everyone in a coop server responds to the TL commands with the chat "DONE" Would be awesome if in coop we could have voice commands like: "Im here" "Requesting Orders!" "Need help!" "Tango Spotted!" "Hold Fire" "Open Fire" etc etc Just something as easy as CS's quick chat thingy
Judge_Recluse
Ill be honest and say Ive never used any voice commands in any game that offered them, unless it was to make a funny video. In pubs no one really listens to them, and if they do hear you, they usually do the opposite of what you want, because who are you to give them orders, lol. In matching, Im on ventrillo, so again I would not use them. But I am just one man, im sure there is a crowd of people who would like this implemented. Hockeystick
I think this had to "go" since they had no more time. I remember Bo saying in a interview that he wanted to impreove the comunication in MP. Maybe they add this in a patch, I sure hope so anyway. GRiN_desmond22
We got the same sound resources as the 360 version, and they don't have enough voice samples to make that feature complete. We considered it, but it wouldn't be good enough. My philosophy - as with most of the GRIN team - is do it right, or avoid it. Also, I figure all who really want to communicate with quick responses use an external VOIP program.

Just off the beaten track, but are there any plans to introduce samples for "kill confirmed" or "Tango down" in the up coming Team death match/ Team LMS ? just a thought
Hockeystick
Can't you record it yourself then? Bo - Go go go! All we need is. Go go go, tango down, tango spotted, cover me, roger that, negative, fall back and regroup. Edited June 20, 2006 by Hockeystick

Agent Smith
When they were in R6 3 on the Xbox version, (Yes, I bought that. I played it on XBL for quite a while) I used the voice commands constantly. It added a ton of immersion into the get to yell out orders and the team would comply. GR2 had them, but the actual commands were flawed because the Ghosts would respond a few seconds after you barked out the order.

This is hardly even a matter that's up for discussion.

Hockeystick
How about this: You create a voice-order-list and lets us record the commands. Ex. Go go go - "record" Cover me - "record" Fall back - "record" etc. etc. etc. All you have to do is to keybind the list. You understand what I mean? Almost like VOIP but more simple Yes the first idea sucked I admit that, but this one is actually good. Its very good for those who don't have a good headset, including me. I only have a crapy mic Edited June 20, 2006 by Hockeystick
Ghost9
Also, I figure all who really want to communicate with quick responses use an external VOIP program. I find that to be a foolhardy assumption. There are many who'd like to communicate with people in pubs. It kinda sucks that in a "team oriented" game there is no way to communicate with your team. but whatever... It's hard to communicate a tango's postition to teamates in TC for example, by saying things like"There's a guy by the seond hut on left".It would be alot easier to just say "Tango at hut in bravo 3 left side", command map overlays would be a nice touch. Ghost9
And many that want to come in screaming profanities will also be plaguing your server and eating up the bandwith. In TS we trust, amen. sigh. It's called mute. It's sad that in a game "community" noone has interest in actually being a community. Rather than having fun games with many different people from all over the world, they'd rather only play a game with the few people they've always talked to. rather stagnant if you ask me. narrow-mindedness is frustrating. I've played many games with the VOIP option and very rarely(aside from CS) have i encountered what you have posted. At the very least there should be some sort of in game comms, whether it be prerecorded voice commands, or hud objectives displayed on screen. All of the functions are in SP, why not carry them over to MP?
