Game's crashing after a few minutes of play

Recommended Posts

I hope someone can help me here. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, updated ATI Radeon drivers and yet my game keeps crashing or dies right after selecting my team in single player mode on firefights.

This happens with just Ghost Recon, Desert Siege, and Island Thunder. I'm not sure why this keeps happening.

Does anybody else have this problem?

My specs are 466 mhz, 256k, 40 G hard drive, Radeon 7200 series Video card.

This really is ###### me off cause the game crashes and no matter what I've done to correct, it's to no avail.

Please help. Thanks

If your going to play firefight alone in single player mode ,try going through the multiplayer menu and edit the server ,,can play offline that way ,,

not through the quick mission menu ..

firefight requires another team'

May have me confused...but firefight doesnt require other human players or team. I play that all the time on my own...just go to multiplayer and create LAN or INTERNET game and set it up in server.

As to answer the original question....I think NCM Force has it right. If you are going to play firefight on your own....go through Multiplayer and see if it still crashes.

Sorry guys, I was meaning the quick mission menu, not multi player. I pick my team and then it changes to the loading screen but then just dies or locks up my whole system, I have to reset every time.

It's weird.

I have added all of the patches and it still doesn't help, any ideas?

First off, GENTLY clean your GR disk. Inspect it for any major damage. Then, do the following:

Try deactivating all MODS (including DS and IT for now), then run the Quick Mission again. If it still locks up and crashes, you probably have a bad installation or a corrupt file somewhere.

If it doesn't lock up, try activating just DS. Start GR again and try out the QM. Then activate IT. You may have to manually uninstall GR or one of the expansion packs. (I'll give you a link for manual uninstallation if that is what it is.)

Also, which order did you install the patches? It should be:

GR

DS

1.3

IT

1.4

Just for kicks, take all your graphic settings to minimum in GR. Then try another load out. You system is somewhat close to minimum requirements.

Hope this helps ya.
