2nd Ranger 1
This is getting ridiculous. Modding out the clicking sound? Did any of you do that for GR? Is it really that big a deal? Edited June 15, 2006 by 2nd Ranger
unwritt3n 50
i honestly think the clicking sound is definatly needed, not from a realism pov, but from a gameplay pov. Just like how Dai-San and Desmond have said! This is all because of damn Lewie!!! lol Edited June 15, 2006 by unwritt3n
big_perm 0
Gameplay always should supercede realism IMO. Thats not saying that I dont like realism. I love it, but if every little minute detail was realistic, we wouldnt have huds that tell us information like bullet counts, we have to stop to catch our breath every so often, wed have to stop the bleeding when shot,we might trip and fall, our guns could get jammed. I mean I think the click is needed from a gameplay perspective. Some of you are too nitpicky. If its helps gameplay, whats the problem? The line has to be drawn somewhere. Indeed. <3 Also, before you get too happy on modding stuff out, there is an anticheat coming which may monitor the game files. So it may not allow you to mod things out at your will. What's to keep hackers from modding out all noises except footsteps if that's the case.
DayGlow 0
to be really realistic the game has to model stuff like my big mitts which when I fire my Glock half the time my thumb puts pressure on the slide release, thus I get halfway through a phase 1 stoppage drill when I realize my gun is emty. Moral of the story is that tactical reloads save lives
Stickan 0
Speaking of weapons and clicks. Does anyone else notice that after you reload your weapon it will click like 7-12 seconds later?? No, never heard of this problem. You mean the click can come at any point within that time frame? This means it might play during silence, or when you've already reloaded your gun and started shooting again? It comes somewhere around that time frame, I'll have to time it. It happens to me all the time, I always think that an enemy is around the corner and is reloading or something. When it happens the hud showing my weapon flashes red at the same time the clicking noise happens. Sounds to me like you're in a domination zone with resupply. Your ammo and etc will resupply every 20 seconds when you have an active supply line, and behave like you describe.
semperfi_bohica 0
yeah just another reason why, oh, about 100 or so are online playing "Domination mode" Edited June 15, 2006 by semperfi_bohica
Tortfeaser 0
I sure don't want this to get out of hand (too late!) but I enlisted in the 80s and have fired every rifle the Army issues as part of an Infantry/Armor Table of Organizational Equipment (TO&E). I have a solution: When the last round is fired in a M-4/M-16, the recoil buffer spring makes a sound. You can hear it if you still have hearing, but you can ALWAYS feel it through your cheek. The reason the spring makes a sound is it is held in the compressed position since the bolt is locked to the rear. This same concept makes the Beretta and HK pistols "feel" different after the last round has left the chamber, as the slide auto locks to th erear. Would any of you consider this acceptable? AH HA! so THATS why I was getting ammo for no reason wondered what was going on there

Thanks for the clarification, if an enemy is nearby and I am automatically resupplied, will he hear the click also?
