This weapon is not fragile. I've shot the civilian version HK 91A2 and it kicks way more than a FN FAL or M14, due the delayed roller blowback system. Very reliable weapon. I assume the PSG-1 would be no different just more refined. Probably kick less due to the extra weight and more accurate due to the hand select barrel. But way too expensive $10,000.00 for a sniper rifle.

Now I just want to get this weapon to work in the game since it's there. If you guys have talent just change it to a G3/SG-1. I'm happy just to get as many different weapons in the game. Of coarse I am trying to make my favorite a Galil SAR. Let's make some of the latest weapons.

Most of these weapons are being field tested by the special forces, so they maybe our future rifles. Perfect for this game. Listening Grin.

Now has anybody figure how to get rid of the scope in the texture files and issue it to our teamates.

it's fragile, its bulky, its heavy, it throws brass a great distance with much force, it doesnt take a bipod unless you use a special stand, it doesn't have a flash hider, it is far too expensive compared to other rifles, it was specifically designed for police, the rebels in GRAW are not just random rebels they are military equipped soldiers, and like you said the PSG1 was stolen from the police not the military. It isn't an assumption, it's a fact that the PSG1 isn't used by military forces. Only possible with GSG9 because they are a military styled police force for dealing with urban counterterrorism. Other than that, no it is not used by any military including the Mexican military. That's why the MSG90 was invented.

I don't know wether the Ghosts are a bit like the Delta Force/ British SAS

but they equip with the weapons of choice, especially on covert ops they will even use weapost from foreighn countries to disguise their presence....

Somewhere I read the Scar H would be the follow up for the SR25, equipped with the right scope and lenghthened barrel, well let me have one, since the availiable sniper rifle is something for out in the open, and not for urban combat.

Personally I would like to see an ak47... but that's is just one man's opinion :)

(too bad it's not hidden within the game no?)

Well, this is a rare instance where in a game the enemy really wouldn't have an Ak47. They'd have G3s and FX05 (mexican G36 like in the game) and HK21 (like in the game). Oh well.

It would make no sense for the Mexicans rebels to use AKs, AKs are for terrorists, comunist countries, and former soviet republics. The political influence of the US over the mexican government would never allow the mexicans to buy AKs. And besides, it makes sense for the mexicans to use G36s, since Spain uses them and it's quite common for Spanish Language countries to buy military hardware from Spain.

It's just lack of creativity to pit the US' soldiers against the old generic terrorist/comunist guerrila armed with AKs, it's time to evolve, as Grin did. No one ever thought the Ghost's next assignment would be on Mexico.

:blink: I was just saying that because I really like the gun (every else was saying guns they liked...), not for the bad guys to have... And yeah I know... GHOSTs wont have them because they get the best stuff... But i really like aks :)... so lets please get back on topic with the psg1....

*SO HOW DOES DEVELOPEMENT GO?

Mexican army usually buys old US equipment.

look at some photos.

Yah, I am assuming that is why they have M-1 Abrams tanks in the game.

The PSG-1 is a nice gun, but same as the Walther WA-2000 it was just much to expensive to be used by anyone. All militaries are, after all, being run by accountants doing a cost-benefit analysis of everything :P

With the .50 in game though it didn't look to me like the reticule was actually part of the 3D weapon model ... could there be some why to make the PSG-1 just jump to the reticule or will the solid scope still be in the way?

WA-2000 expnsive hehe more like a small fortune just for one. One man in the states purchased i think 7 or 8 back in the 80's. Today he'll sell one for 75,000 US a pop.

I dunno about that mate, There are some real "Cadillac" Kalashnikov rifles out there that put the old rusty stamped steel and laminated stock to shame :)

and saying only terrorists use AKs is like saying only Gangstas use Glocks :P

check out these pictures (courtesy of ultimak.com (ULTIMATE AK ACCESSORIES lol)

uh oh... I Think the retail value of that aimpoint exceeds the production cost of the rifle even with a military discount hehe

this one is a Russian made VEPR (Civillian export AK) build on a stamped RPK receiver which are on par with the milled type but without the cost of machining. they come in different calibers that are more domestic friendly compared to the Russian surplus stuff (surplus 5.45 & 7.62x39 are rare and expensive now a days) so the lineup includes chambering for .308 and .223 (the one below is .308/7.62NATO)

and here comes the real shocker lol (Taken in Iraq/Afghanistan and sent to ultimak for good publicity)

a game series known for attempting to simulate military combat. just commenting.

Good points, Lipoff, but considering the options we have, I'd prefer to hear Allen cycling more rounds downrange!

hah yeah, owning a class 3 without going through all the federal red tape and taxes, now THAT'S FREEDOM...

sucks about the wartime economy though, I read on gunsnet that a lot of the surplus munition manufactured at Tula is being bought up by the gov and shipped overseas to train the Iraqi Defense Force

poor sods such as myself get to buy what ever is left, when I bought my SKS on the weekend after I turned 18, Wolf 7.62x39 HP and FMJ retailed for $.10/pop, now its $.20+/pop for the same crap... that was two years ago, I dont even want to mention gas prices

but you can always go to wally world and pay $20 + Tax for 40 rounds of domestic Winchester & Remington 7.62x39. only good thing about those is that you can reload them and they seem better suited for hunting. I might have to try that next time deer season comes around because one of my buddies owns a bit of woodland that has a nice deer population and I don't think anyone will call the game warden if I'm blasting deer on private property with a semi-auto with the owners permisson hahah

Top is definitely SF, second US Army, and the last is a contractor. Logistics isn't an issue when there's plenty of ammo, I mean there is no shortage of ammo for the AK-47 in Iraq.

i was just thinkin it wouldnt be to hard to make a g3 becuase all you would need to do is replace the sight with the mp5sd's and change the flash hider to one of the other assult rifle's and change the color of the fore grip to green, but i know i cant do it becuase i dont no how so anyone who is interested in a new gun that shouldnt be to hard

and since the new patch should be comeing out soon with a totuiral shouldnt be to hard for ne one with experince

Well if you wanted to do it right there would have to be more changed than that ... the receiver, mag well, ejection port, barrel length, handguard and cocking handle would all have to be changed for a G-3A4. To do the much more common G-3A3 a new buttstock would also be needed. :)

You could probably use the SCAR-H mags though, they look similar to G-3 mags.
