unwritt3n 50
I know it's probably too early to be talking about this.. But will (if any) the expansion still be in Mexico City? If not where?? Where would the GR.NET community like to see the Ghosts visit next?
The Blueberry_EBDA 0
Well once we stop the comies in Mexico,,,We got to go down and take care of Chavez.I hear hes still alive.
Peace 0
Where would the GR.NET community like to see the Ghosts visit next? Easy! Why not make it in the Svalbard, Murmansk, Hammerfest general area like Frostbite? Or other snow and winter region? Both rural and urban maps, indoor and outdoor (docks, radar installations, mountains, open plains etc. Make it lot of nice scenery and weather daylight effects (snow storm, crisp clear night or bluish day/twilight with the sun low on the sky...etc etc... I would love to see that in GRAW!

Colin 0
Not wanting to pour cold water on a good post, but any expansion will be bourne from games sales, Ubisoft will decide if they want such a thing and if the sales of the game dictate it. Haveing said that it is doing well in the charts and has been since its release. I would love too see it happen.

Haveing said that it is doing well in the charts and has been since its release. I would love too see it happen. That will mean the decision should pretty much be based on the sales after first few months or so, shouldn't it? So the devs will have sufficient time to make the expansion.. Desert Siege had release date: Mar 27, 2002, i.e., less than 6 months after original GR release
Colin 0
I would say and this is just a guess, they we would find out about an expansion inside 3 months from release. After August.
chiles4 11
Just shooting from the hip here but if there was an expansion, I doubt it would be purely urban combat set in Mexico City. I always thought of myself as a big urban combat fan but I can see how urban-combat-only could get old. So far I've broken down urban combat into three basic situations (I'm sure there are more): - "rat maze"...tight street corridor combat with limited field of view - "run the gauntlet"...self-explanatory - "you can be shot from any direction at any time"...large, complex areas with endless sniper hiding places and directions you can be shot from I'm thinking they would do as they did in [GR] - different styles and locales to keep gamers interested. We can hope at least!
unwritt3n 50
I wouldn't mind if we were to visit Mexico City again, just as long as it's more rural with different skins, weapons and functions. I would love to play as the Ghosts in Australia!!! Come to me Ghosts!!! We got some awesome rural settings here!!
Lowrider 0
Will GRIN get a vacation in the expansion setting, too? If so, I'm guessing no on Murmansk.
CkZWarlord 0
I wanna see beaches, mangroves, desert, grasslands, forests, swamps and mountains. As for expansion missions I would like to see to see something like the Beach landing like in "Operation Overlord" in UT2003 (NOW THAT WAS INTENSE! Never seen anything like it before or again). When it comes to weapons I would like to see the option of placing mines of various types. Claymores and proximity mines for example. With this would also comes of course a mine disposal kit sort of thing. Edited June 6, 2006 by CkZWarlord
REDMONSTER 0
id like to see something ins the southwest usa. so many varied places they could use also a story line oculd be tryign to steal a sercet airplane orsomething like that that is being kept at nellis hehehehe
silent_op 0
First of all I think this is a "no brainer". All platform GR:AWs seemed to have to stuck to certain design guidlines, notice the similarity in all of them. The 360 received jungle missions for CO-OP (I only know from what was shown online). I suspect we will be crawling around in some jungle/tropical areas in our expansion pack as well then. Why would GRIN or UBI want to stray from the general direction that has already been set? GRIN is commited to GR:AW for only one year after release. I would have rather snow, mountains, and even some desert settings. silent_op Edited June 6, 2006 by silent_op
JASGripen 0
Having some elevations would be fine. There are some [GR] maps who comes to mind, sniping from cliffs above the approaching enemy. Some snowflakes and ground snow on top of that would be nice. Actual fotprints could be displayed on the ground for some time, giving some extra spice to the hunt and seek game. Svalbard? Perhaps. Would be the old Russian speaking hunt then. Russian extremists (haven't we killed em all yet in [GR]?) taking over the Russian mining colony on the Norwegian Svalbard. A plot as good as anyone else. Limitless 0
Not to throw mud on perfectly good game like Ghost Recon, and by no means is the game I shall mention as good as "Ghost Recon" however; if the expansion had a jungle setting like Joint Operations: Typhoon Rising, that would be awesome. I used to hide in the tall grass and snipe for a half hour without being found if I inched around and reconed positions. Swimming thru murky waters to crawl to a new spot is also a great feature for stealthy positioning. Could we get a little of that along with a Gillie suit for outdoors sniping? Lead Salad 0
Anything with maps in open, hilly terrain. I think GRAW has done a really good job with Mexico City, however I must admit I just don't like it as much. I don't mind CQB either; I just really want the expansive outdoors with hills, forests, streams and snow. I don't give a damn where the setting is, so long as it has those. With this engine, some of the stuff from Summit Strike on the Xbox would look stunning, IMO. If that would happen, I'd be in love with Ghost Recon again.
MikeSherry95 0
Just my 2 cents, but maybe they could base something off of actual modern day event. It dont have to be to a T, but maybe base it off of some of the special opp campiagns in afganistan or Iraq, or maybe even panama(if it has to be jungle). Dont have to be specifically in these areas, but maybe something similar. If they want to use fictisious similations, maybe they can look at world events, and scenarios of if such and such happen. Take Isreal and Iran situation. Maybe The Middle east can do another war of 63 thing(but convert it to the present situation), And have the Ghost go in to observe and help the Isreally army. Or maybe the ghost get coordinated with Isrealli special forces and take out Irans defenses, and Nuclear sites. Doesnt nessicarily have to be this, but you get the point. LOL I'm sure their are much beter screen writers, and military thinkers then myself. That is if the story is important.

The variety would certainly keep your mind sharp and keep ones interest for years... This game has the potential and I believe, it will happen in time via expansion pack and or modders with the right tools to implement this...
