AUY2K Posted May 24, 2006 Share Posted May 24, 2006 I just installed Patch 1.10 and now when I click on the GRAW icon short cut the game does not start up. Installed a fresh copy of graw then RETAIL 1.10 pach . 1.Hitting exe file 2.DVD starts to spinn 3.screen goes black 4.black screen+mouse 5.GRAW.exe has encounted a problem and need to close Note: Game worked with the last patch !! Nookie Posted May 24, 2006 Share Posted May 24, 2006 (edited) Reinstalled everyting again ! then 1.06 patch RETAIL then 1.10 RETAIL Still NO GO Was looking at event viewer: Faulting application graw.exe, version 0.0.0.0, faulting module ctdproxy.dll, version 5.12.1.1164, fault address 0x0000ab1a. rookie Posted May 25, 2006 Share Posted May 25, 2006 (edited) When your screen goes black and nothing happens, or back to desktop, your firewall is most likely blocking the GRAW.exe again. Lucky me, my firewall pops up visible in the game and asked if I wanted to allow the game access to the internet after I installed the patches. You should give it a try. Edit: Nah overread that part with GRAW.exe has encounted a problem, sorry. Ignore my post. Edit2: I also have the Audigy 2 (ZS) and have no problems. GDD_Viper Posted May 26, 2006 Share Posted May 26, 2006 (edited) i have an onboard card and have the problem. But i found a very interesting error when i tried to uninstall the game. "The setup has detected that version 1.10.000 of GRAW is already installed. This setup installs and earlier version of Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter (1.06.000). You will have to uninstall the previous version before installing this version" Keep in mind this is going through add/remove programs and start/ubisoft/graw/uninstall. norrin Posted May 26, 2006 Share Posted May 26, 2006 I also had the crash at start after installing patch 1.10 and I also found that if I disabled my Sound Blaster Live card (even though I was using the onboard sound anyway) the game would start. JTF-2 Posted June 23, 2006 Share Posted June 23, 2006 is there any fix for this yet? I've got an audigy 2 ZS. Game works fine unpatched, but as soon as I apply any one of the patches it gets stuck on a black screen, just before the vendor/dev logos start. It's a pretty big problem.
