ChimpUKLF
The system requirements for this game are NOT unreasonable. The system requirements do NOT mean you need a high-end PC to play it. Anyone who is moaning about having to upgrade their PC which "was high-end 18 months" ago is talking BS. If your PC really was "high-end" 18 months ago you'd still be able to play GRAW now, end of story. My PC really was high-end 3 years ago and only just fell below the minimum requirements for GRAW on the gfx card front. (I had an FX5900). So my box is 3 years old, and GRAW didn't work on it. But its 3 years old! It would be unreasonable for me to expect a bleeding edge game to work on a box that was high-end 3 years ago. Consider this, the average refresh cycle for corporate desktops (ie PC's which are only required to run Word and Excel) is 3 to 4 years - So if you're trying to stay up with bleeding edge games why do you expect to be able to play them on old hardware? People who think that 512MB RAM is reasonable these days are sadly mistaken, I have desktops on my work network with 512MB RAM in them, and all they do is run Word and Excel all day....... I've had to upgrade my gfx card to play GRAW and I've also put in an extra Gig of RAM, I don't think there's anything wrong with this.......for better or for worse it is and always has been a fact of life of PC gaming that you have to run the upgrade treadmill from time to time. aCid
i agree... as i said in another thread: oi im just saying the truth, my freinds got an emachines t6216 and only 512 of ram and 128 onboard, he plays fine at 30-40 frames with everything on low at 800x600, no of course it doesnt look as good as if u were playing on all high @ 1600x1200, but if u want the eye candy to be blasted up u must pay the price, graw is playable on low with an extreme low end system as i just told u with that emachines. not evry one has a high end rig, i understand that, i myself had a very low end rig but saved my money for a good part of last year to get my pc. im just confused as to why people say it isnt playable with a low end pc... stop moaing people, jesus
calius
Please stop moaning about moaning because people will post about the moaning of the moaning which will in turn cause more moaning and thus has created another moaning thread dedicated to just that subject. Im not moaning about it though O'Rly? i am just angered by the futile people that say "zomg my systemis teh l33711oleleven suace and c4nt play graw teh max quality" it is playable people get off your high horse and realize in the pc industry new hardware is deemed outdated every 2-3 months by a replacement model so basically if u have a compaq presario from 1999 and expect to play graw with high settings, gl with that Edited May 19, 2006 by aCid
calius
Acid I, we, all agree ... ALL "AGREE". Because now Acid your post is like moaning just like the moaners and 2 wrongs dont make a right ... calius
I think the moderators should get every single complaint thread, merge them all together into one large single thread. Create a "GRAW Complaints" section ... then everyone has a place ... but the thread would be sooooooooooooooooo long the moaners would then run out of time & effort reading it all as they would slowly realise everything has been covered, all angles looked at, all corners polished and chipped away at ... it would then just fall apart rather nicely
aCid
i aint fueling the fire here, im tryin to explain i have prooven it to run on a crap system with playable frames so people wit similar rigs arent scared off because graw is a really nice game

Then a bunch of GRAW leg humpers would start new threads about how it is now a great place since the moaners disappeared, then the moaners will retaliate by starting new threads moaning about how their moaning thread died out because of a GRAW leg humper conspiracy. There is no end, you can't escape. I'm sure the Trekkies know about an episode that went like this.
calius
Hahaha ... I agree with you all ... its a spiraling messy pile of dark ummm, things .. I agree on all counts posted.

ST2_Pootin
Just a a note to computer users. Clean your PC up!!!. I am in telecom and 80% of the time a pc is running slow it's because you have so much crap running in the back ground that no wonder it's running slow. I am runnning an $900 system and it works with GRAW fine. Here's a suggestion: Create a seperate XP profile for nothing but gaming. Call it something like gaming. Other suggestions kill your MSN so it doesnt start on start up get a hardware firewall and delete zone alarm use adaware to delete any spyware defrag your harddrive occasionally go into msconfig off the cmd line and un check anything that doesnt need to runn all the time. example: your cd burning software. my system (in Canadian dollars) AMD 2500 Barton $120 ABIT ALN something or other (dolby 5.1 sound card built in): $120 Ram 1028: $150 Seagate 120 gb hd: $95 Computer case: OEM Special: 400 wt ps. $80 4 fans: $60 (so i can run it like a 3200) CD Rom: Samsung something or other $40 Video Card: Nvidea geforce 6800 : $278 Total $835 Buying it in seperate pieces so wife can't track the costs: Priceless.... Poita
Oh really. It's unreasonable to expect a new game to run on it's absolute bare minumum settings in a system with 1 gig of ram, 2 gig processor, Gforce 5950 ultra graphics card? Sure it's not a high end system any more but it can run Rome: Total war on full settins at 1600 1200 with fifteen thousand men on screen. My point is that if the game was bleeding edge then it would not only have the power to look great but also the flexibility to cater to systems that are still quite niffty but no longer top of the range. You say we shouldn't expect a bleeding edge game to run our our 2 or three year old systems . . . well we do expect it (although on minimum settings) and why do we expect it??????? because just about every last single other game that ever comes out manages to do it. My system specs as posted above: . . . . . . . . Oblivion runs fine on medium to low settings. Lockdown renders beautifully on medium. Half Life 2 screams on everything full and maxed out. Rome: Total War Rocks with full settings for 5,000 V 5,000 battles. COD2 runs sweetly on medium settings. GRAW . . . . will run but everythings black cause it won't display the textures. So it runs but the program doesn't cater for lower cards. Most games cater for cards that are 3 and somtimes even 4 generations down. Maybe there are others but to my mind GRAW is the only game that locks out over half of the gaming community it is aimed at. And you say we are being childish and unreasonable to have expected GRAW to run on bare minimum settings on cards that are even 1 gen down? I think not. CATHEAD
Don't know what everybody is moaning about. I have 2x 7900GTX XFX cards overclocked in sli and the games flys. LMAO. I kick ass on MP because while most peeps have lag or low FPS I have full setting on and blistering FPS. Would have liked to be able to choose my own resolution in MP though, does GRIn think we all have slow ass set-ups? with 512MB video ram and 4GB of system Ram the game is great and looks awesome. Shame it's so naff at the minute!
