Havok 30
here's my question.... say i was to take my rig over to a friends house set it up on his lan can we both then connect to a m/p game, say the gr server - or any other server ?! what hardware is needed if this is possible ? he has dual network cards and is on cable, pretty sure he only has one i.p. so would this complicate things ? we've had up to four guys playing at his house but the thought of us going online has never occurred to me until this point. anyone know if this is possible ? hero2zer0 0
u could start the server on the computer the connects to the internet and connect to it via lan with internal address while others will connect with external (internet) address. i dont know if the game supports such thing but its worth the try. ps i thought of doing so myself but my other comped got fried few weeks ago
bkriley 0
I play with my uncle some times and he has Seven computers in his computer room and we all go online in Battlefield 1942 and Ghost all the time it works fine. I don't know his set up but it will work.
Prophet 0
I'm sure you'd need a router to split his Internet connection to his computer and yours. The router should supply each of you with an IP so you dont get hung up on the net. You could both probably just hook his internet to a router, then the router to each rig. That should do it...not positive but it sounds right.

Tater 0
All you need is a router ($50 lynksys or so). If one of the PC's is run as dedicated, it's even better. Your local PC's join directly through the router and use zero bandwidth, that way you can have more players on a typical DSL or cable setup and more bandwidth to share. Personal message or email me if theres questions.
