"It is a great deal more than run and gun. "

I thought we all knew that.

No, look at many posts. Most think it was just run and gun. (They think a game has to force tactics on you).

Shadow run. Sweet. Looks to be CGI. Concept looks great, but I want to see gameplay.

HALO 3 Trailer. Community Manager from Team Xbox says the trailer runs in real time.

From Bungie:

We won't ruin the content of our short presentation by describing it frame by frame, but we will note that everything you're seeing here is being rendered in real-time on the Xbox 360, using the current version of our Halo 3 game engine. The HDR lighting, self-shadowing, GPU-run particle system and many other effects should make it intact (and more) to our final game.

HALO 3 Trailer takes place in North Africa. The human race has been almost obliterated. The Covenant came to Earth seeking the Forerunners and did not realize the Forerunner secrets would be found on a planet inhabited by despicable humans. The trailer shows what appears to be a Forerunner ship or even city buried in the crater.

I finaly got to watch it. There was so much i liked it's hard to start on what i liked the must.

Anyways biggest thing that comes to mind is the cross com play with x360, PC & Cell Phones. I was wondering since we playing with PC guys now if people can get over the K/M on the console since you playing against people usen the K/M anyways. I don't think must will agree just yet, but after a year playing cross com must might chance there minds about the mouse coming to X360. It's not a level playing field no more so you can't use that line no more.

I'm also glad they showed alittle more on the modding and editing of games. It sounded like they said there will be more on it come this week can't wait to get all the info on that. So far looks like must the modding/editing should be done on Windows Vista. Well im sure at least when it comes to the really big mods it will be done on Vista before it goes to the Marketplace for DL or sharing with friends. Again the amount they showed was so small there is still much more to learn, this is the future & Life (Modding) of the x360 to me in the future years of the x360. There was also a statement about this around 2 weeks ago. They said it's in the works and couldn't coment on it or give a time frame just yet. Here's to hopen they tell alittle more this week since they did show alittle tad bit about the editing and the Marketplace with Forza2 and Viva Pinata.

Oh yea the wireless Forcefeed back Wheel is great and glad to hear its comeing out with Forza2. I'm also hopen to hear something like it will charge the same way you charge your old contoler now maybe even with the same batter packs. Yet im left wondering about the flight stick when Over G comes out?? I know one is coming just don't know how far out and would like to know if there is some kind of default where it might work with every flight game like a wheel is. As for MS Flight Simulator X i was hopen on a x360 release also with cross com play, but don't look like its going to happen. I also can't forget about Crysis i know it's a PC first, console 2nd game, but thinking of the cross com stuff makes me hope the x360 will get the same love when being made as the PC might have. Last for now is the Halo 3 Trailer being real time. I am sure it is real time footage, but it just makes me think man this is still just the begining of the life of the x360 and it only gets better. I can't even imagen what the games are going to look like at the end of it's cycle.

Yea i was going to get back to the Gears of War since i didn't get to it earlier. GoW looks to be shapen up to be a great game so far. It could be more than a Halo killer in my book if they have wide open maps for MP. Only part i know about in the MP is the CooP, but not much on TDM. Scariest thing i can see happening is the maps look to be very narrow and extremly linear so maken the TDM not so hot. Again im sure they will make maps just for TDM opening up afew routes i hope. Yet if they don't im not to sure on the MP since it's the only true selling point for me. Hope maybe we can learn more over the next few days.

There is still alot of games i want to get back at, but i want to wait more until E3 comes to a close so i can get more info first. Games i want to know more about so far wasn't showen like Huxely, Over G, Battlestations: Midway & afew others, but there is still hope over the next few days.

Oh Major Nelson got some chat time in with Bill Gates after the E3 show RSS WMA it's a good broadcast if you haven't heard it yet.

Huxley is scheduled for a special show this week. I don't think there is any doubt that MS brought next gen to the table and Sony failed to deliver. Especially after it was realized that Heavenly Sword wasn't real time. Nintendo had some interesting ideas and I am enticed, but their game selection is lacking. I do laud them for trying to break the traditional barrier in game making.

A closer look at the HALO Trailer yields the power of the 360.

http://www.gamespot.com/e3/e3story.h...725&pid=926632

Shortly after Microsoft's presentation, we had an opportunity to get a close-up look at Halo 3 with Bungie representatives. We spoke with Brian Gerrard, one of Bungie's community managers, as well as TJ Cohen, the cinematics director. Cohen stated that the trailer was a good example of where Halo 3 is going, in terms of fiction. By that, he means that the story is epic in scale, but dark as well, and Bungie is going for a distinct mood, since Halo 3 will represent the end of the trilogy.

The Bungie representatives made it clear to us that the trailer was running in real-time on the Xbox 360. The trailer is set in the African desert, and it was taken from roughly a third of the way through the game. Cohen noted that the constant battling has taken its toll on Master Chief, and you can see that by the many scratches and gouges in his armor. The flashes of Cortana seen in the trailer fill you in on the state of her mind, and the Forerunner structure seen in the distance at the end of the trailer represents a pivotal point in the story.

We next met with Marcus Lehto, Bungie's art director, who filled us in on the technology as he gave us a fly through of the locations in the trailer. The crater seen in the trailer is three miles across, and it's all rendered in real geometry. Halo 3 has a new global lighting system that now lights everything uniquely from the same source, which explains just how that setting sun looked that good as it illuminated everything in the trailer. Halo 2, on the other hand, used a lighting system that lit everything separately. Meanwhile, parallax mapping is able to give depth to structures in the distance, such as the clouds above the crater. A new particle system offers different levels of light diffusion to take the quality of the atmosphere into account, and that makes for different layers of light.

The demo shifted away from the crater to the part of the level you see the Master Chief walking in from. He was controllable, which means that the trailer indicates just how good the game will look. Lehto was able to zoom in on the Master Chief with the camera, and you could see the many different ways light reflected objects onto him. For example, you could see light reflect off the ground and onto his armor. A new materials system shows the difference between his armor and the rubber undersuit. It's so detailed that if you bring the camera close to the Master Chief's visor, you see everything in front of him reflected in it, right down to the ammo counter in his rifle.
