Prophet 0
I just bought a new computer....a P4 2.4G with 256 megs RAM and the ATI Radeon 9700 Pro Video card. My question is aimed at others with the same card....what frame rates do you get and at what resolution/depth do you get them on? Right now I get at max like 80 FPS. The game runs VERY smooth so I guess that is ok?
Dark Ranger 0
Might check your Anti-Aliasing and Anistropic Filtering levels. Those will have effect on Frame Rates. Also, does it seem like your FPS are "capped". By that I mean, it tries to supercede 80 but "can't" go beyond. If so, your refresh rates are locked. Tried any other games with that card? I'm assuming you're running XP since it is a new computer. If they seem locked, we'll help you get 'em unlocked.

What would you recommend setting those levels to because I really never looked to see what those mean. Also....the words that tell you your FPS turn green every once in a while and go to the max I stated. It just seems to me that the ATI Radeon 9700 Pro is more powerful than those FPS reflect. Hmmm...how would I go about "unlocking" refresh rates? Yes, it is XP Home Edition. Thanks for all help.
Rubleman 0
You probably have Force V-Sync on in the control panel, under D3D settings of your ATI control panel. Turn it off if you want to see higher rates, but really not necessary. I run GR with 9700Pro at 1600x1200 with 2xAA and 16AF, all at highest except shadows, which are one notch down. FPS vary depending on map, but rarely goes below 30 fps on heaviest. Thats with Athlon XP2000+.

Yeah I have graphics maxed out except for screen size I have 1024 X 768 just because I dont like the small reticule. There is absolutely no jumping and everything is really smooth....I just wanted to make sure my card was working to its full potential.
