Just a question. It seems that I am unable to move the mouse pixel by pixel, but instead it makes a jump of 3 or 4 pixels. So the mouse movement isn't very smooth and it makes it tough to pick off enemies. I usually end up having to keep my mouse still and move my body just slightly to the left or right to get right on target, but during firefights that isn't always possible.

I have my mouse sensitivity set to 6. I am using a Logitech 4-button mouse with the 9.x drivers on WinXP, if that helps.

Anyone else have this happening? It happens to all my co-workers as well. Is it just part of the game?

Thanks a bunch,

First off, if you own a ball-type mouse, I'd clean it. Remove the screws on the underside of the shell, and take out the ball, being cautious not to damage the circuit board or other components. Then, inspect the rollers, and clean off any "crud" that has accumulated on the ball, rollers, and surrounding areas.

You could also check if Logitech has released any new drivers for your mouse.

Hope this helps ya.

Thanks for the reply, Dark Ranger. I have cleaned the mouse thoroughly, but I haven't checked for new drivers yet. I will do that right now. What is really strange about it is that this only happens in GR. Every other game I play, I get precise mouse movement.

The updated drivers didn't do the trick. It's almost as if the mouse is following a grid pattern, where the grid squares are 5 pixels by 5 pixels.

Any other suggestions, anyone? thanks in advance

You bet, Dark Ranger. Here is the info on my mouse...

Model #: M-BA47 (Logitech MouseMan Wheel on a USB Port, 4 button version)

Driver: Logitech MouseWare version 9.76 build 046 (posted on Logitech's site on 3/26/03)

OS: Windows XP

Thanks. So far I haven't been able to find anything about this happening or how to correct it. Hopefully someone has some insight into this. It's damned annoying :)

Hey DR, I found out what the problem was. Basically, the higher you have your mouse sensitivity, the larger a pixel jump the reticule will make when you are moving your mouse. I had my setting at 6.0, I upped it to 9.0 and got what appeared to be an even greater jump in mouse movement. So I put it back down to 1.0 and now the mouse movement is very accurate.

I was under the impression that the mouse sensitivity in GR worked the way it did in other FPS's, where the higher the sensitivity was set the faster the mouse moved; but in other FPS's you don't lose any accuracy of the mouse, you just have to learn to control it better.

Thanks for taking the time to reply and give suggestions, I appreciate it :)
