Prophet
OK....this has become an aggrevating occurance for me, about the only one I can think of in GR. I am sniping.....7.62mm, and I am laying in the prone position with an enemy in site. I take aim....the reticule minimizes to it's capacity...and I fire. Through the scope I can see the shot hit him in the eye, but he does not die. I fire again....on his other eye. A direct hit, but still he does not die, and even tries to take cover behind a small tree. I shoot him in the head AGAIN, you cant even make out a face on this guy, and still he does not die. So I aim for the chest (heart area) and fire....direct hit, STILL no death. Finally I just shoot him in the leg, and what do you know...he collapses to the ground....dead. Now this has happened quite often to me in my days playing GR, and it really gets to me because the whole point of being a sniper is for that satisfying one shot - one kill ability. Now there are plenty of times that I do get one shot - one kills, but there has even been times I've taken someone's whole face off and he shot once at me and killed me. Now please dont jump on me and say "well as a player you can also take shots to the head and live" because I'd rather die from one head shot and be able to kill with one head shot then use that as a tradeoff excuse. This game is AWESOME and I love it, and when I play online against human opponents this doesnt happen to me, but agains AI enemies it is a problem. Anyone else feel this way? genetic_monkey
check to make sure you're not playing in arcade mode. The AI can take alot of bullets before they go down.
Prophet
check to make sure you're not playing in arcade mode. The AI can take alot of bullets before they go down. Reeeeeaaalllly? Hmm....so there is a setting that can effect all that? Interesting thanks for the tip.
AUY2K
How do you get that close to see their face? If I get that close and I don't take them out then I am dead. I have to initiate contact from very far away or I would get over run by the enemy.
Prophet
With full zoom on sniper rifles...especially at night....I can get reaaallly close.
Jack57
Yes, there's something weird there Prophet. Maybe it's the arcade mode as already mentioned. I have never seen what you are reporting - a single head shot will drop a tango dead 99% of the time, even from 50 metres with a pistol. If it's not the arcade setting the only other thing I can think of is that the settings in your combat.xml are messed up, badly. Lupus
I have had that sort of thing happen in one spot in one Mission twice (can't remember the name, but it was at a Tank/missle site outside a castle). I popped this guy about a dozen times, all over. The AI even claimed he was dead twice. He started limp/crawling after the first shot, after a few more shots he got up again, then went down again........I think it was the third time that the game said that he was dead that he stayed down. I figured I just got some blanks by mistake )
