I play a sim from '98 all the time that not only looks better than some software being released now, the scope of the title has expanded, too- for a sim that never had a large following. nib Posted March 27, 2003 Share Posted March 27, 2003 Well, I'm new to the game, only been playing for a couple weeks and I've got to say that this game is so well done, with such fun gameplay, I totally understand why it is still popular and why it hasn't died. I got Splinter Cell and Ghost Recon at the same time. Splinter Cell was cool and I enjoyed it but since I finished, its just sitting on my shelf. GR on the other hand, has taken over my life. Not to say I dont mind playing with a few mods now and again, but the game would be find without them. GR2 can wait, and wait, and wait......... I would definately agree with that! As a person who seldom plays MP, without mods I would have played GR thru a couple of times and then flogged it on eBay like all the others that come and go briefly. Take Splinter Cell for example - great little game, but now I've played it thru I guess I'll play it again on the hard level and then get rid of it. Got to agre with you here, every now and then, I whip out this old SNES game I used to play, U.N. Squadron. I was a master at that game, I could beat it on one life at the hardest setting... and all thanks to my dad... he taught me how. I've been hooked on this series of games since I played Rainbow Six many years ago. There's just something about the first time you come around a corner, face to face with a tango, and your heart stops... and after the smoke clears, you realized that it started again, and unfortunately for the tango you ran into, his has stopped because you pulled the trigger a fraction of a second before he did... Meprolite Posted March 30, 2003 Share Posted March 30, 2003 I don't think GR will die anytime soon, but RSE did push their luck by not fixing the shadow tango bug that came with IT. While you can still play missions co-op in Multiplayer its a real immersion destroyer when you run past one of those black statues. They really should fix that damnit.
