the GAMESPY problems thread

I have been looking on the web for a solution to this problem, and have never found a good answer. I finally was able to make it work through tips gathered through many forums. Here is my little guide, I hope it helps.

Turn on GRAW

Create a new profile, preferrably only for multiplayer

Under this profile, click on the MULTIPLAYER tab.

Once there, create a NEW ACCOUNT

Remember, that for this new account you need to make a 100% original name. No recycled names from other games. Make something different so you are sure it is not used. When assigning your name and password, press enter after every line of text. Remember also to pick an email adress that you have never used before when attempting to make other GAMESPY accounts.

Once you have filled out all that, check BOTH THE BOXES when the two little paragraphs of text pop up.

If this doesn't work, I don't know what to tell you.

So, the main points of this is to have a :

Completely fresh, unused email address. It must never have been used during failed attempts at making an account.

A name that has never been used during failed attempts at making an account..

Thanks man.....this should be a STICKY.....I'm gonna try it, and i suppose as a last resort I would have anyway, but I been pulling my hair out here

...some of us have only just got machines capable of running GR:AW...and find we can't get online. Since I now only play co-op it would otherwise be a waste of money...now I understand what all the fuss about GameSpy was about...

I think I tried everything on this forum but the crap still doesn´t work.

And when Uninstalling and Installing again I got an 6001 eror, that took like an hour the find the fix for, it is actually available on this page:

I have opened ports, dropped firewalls, created new accounts with different passwords and users, logged in with accounts on arcade, reinstalled graw, not in that order but I can tell you one thing. There is no ######ing way I am gonna buy Graw 2 if they use gamespy. Seriously, I have spent five hours with this crap now, five hours!!!

Allright, I got it working now. But don´t ask me how I did it, I have no idea. I even moved the computer back behind the router and still works like a charm....it just started working, maybe the server was feeling bad o something.

Ubi-servers aren't taking new registrations as far as I know, somehow the registration form/server is broken or they are preparing it for GRAW2, I hope they will set up a new, clear sserver with no registrations so I can get my forrester tag back.... which seems to locked up, I asked a Ubi-moderator to look wat's up so I hope he brings news soon (before the demo hopefully)
