Maybe someone here can be of more use than Ubisoft. I just d/l GR from Direct2Drive (this is a "legal" d/l which Ubi supports). However, they wont give me any help because i am running xp 64-bit. They claim the game wont work on my sys. They said the same thing about RvS (also d/l off Direct2Drive) but i got that to work but i dont remember how. When i try to start GR, the game crashes w the reporting error (ghost recon needs to close. do you wish to report this?). I even tried installing a [Thing that should not be spoken of here IAW Forum Rule 3.7] patch and i actually got into the game but it crashes before you get to choose your kit. I shouldnt even have to use a [Thing that should not be spoken of here IAW Forum Rule 3.7] patch because i have a legal copy and paid for the game. If someone can help that would be great.

rem - OS is xp 64-bit

I know this post is going to be less than helpful.......

But have you considered partitioning your drive and running a 32 bit partition?

I myself intend to go 64 bit eventually (my cpu is already 64 bit)

But I understand that there are certain progs/ kit that just won't port and an alternative OS is never a bad idea

I know, no help at all, at least I tried :(

Thanks anyway phlookian. I went out and bought the retail copy, installed that and it worked. Either there is a problem w xp 64 and Direct2Drive or just my comp, but it is NOT a compatibility issue, regardless of what Ubi says.
