=warcloud=
NEW FEATURES - Co-op: Co-op Mode allows you to play Single Player levels on the Internet and LAN with both AI controlled bots and human players. Several new options have been created that will allow the server creator to modify how the bots behave in game. - Air dropped vehicles: Squad members can now send a request up the chain of command for a vehicle to be dropped at their location. BUG FIXES & GAME PLAY TWEAKS - Prevented ban list from being cleared in the event of a server crash. - Fixed issue with players not properly ranking up on servers where they continuously play. - Fixed bug where friendly vehicles show up as valid targets - Friendly Vehicle lock: Lock-on weapons do not lock on to friendly vehicles. The box with an X through it will still appear, but a lock tone will not sound and then if fired, the missile will not track the friendly target. Keep in mind this is only a part of what 1.3 will include. Our live team is working diligently to provide the best update possible in preparation for the release of the Armored Fury booster pack! It was so cool to see the circling UAV in the last patch and be able to shoot it down

Hacksaww
These fixes would be okay only if they kept squad-hopping.
Strapt
These fixes would be okay only if they kept squad-hopping. ← Are they releasing all these features bit by bit just to keep people interested, or are they actually coming up with them as the months go by? Bug fixes fair enough. But air dropped vehicles and visible UAV.... any reason why this couldn't have been in the first verion? I uninstalled BF2 + SF last night cos GRAW is out in a few days. Had to put them back on just in case the CoOp mode is actually any good.

pz3
Well... another patch yay. I just recently bought bf2 played it for a very short while while the patch downloaded not thinking anything of it. Stuttering seemed to be a huge! Online atleast so i went back to singleplayer and it was suttering all over the place. Well geez wasnt the 1.2 patch supposed to fix that for some people? Anyways I didnt know about this I reformated my PC and reinstalled double checked to make sure it was running fine... and it was perfect! absalutly perfect 1680x1050 everything maxed. 60+FPS absalutly no stuttering. Installed the newest patch and WHAM! Flippin stuttering again wich makes the game unplayable. ok so I deleted it... Ill install the game and maybe try patching again when 1.3 comes out maybe. almost no servers on retail version thoe

I play at the same res as you with a P4 2.4 and upgrading from 512 to 2GB RAM made a huge diff.
pz3
i know the game is memory heavy... it likes to use virtual memory more aswell .... im currently one 2x512 ... i just ordered 2x1024 XMS corsair... Im actually looking forward to how well it helps photoshop out more then BF2 thoe lol.

I found some info about stuttering with AGP gfx cards, but above all else 2 GByte works a treat. I also use punkbuster manual updater, download from evenbalance, because sometimes pb won't allways auto update unless you configure ports to allow, and i have had stuttering from this behaviour of pb auto updating. I also use ea downloader for all patches and booster packs etc, great tool, no worries looking for server downloads. CR6
im currently one 2x512 ... i just ordered 2x1024 XMS corsair... Nice upgrade. Does that mean you are going to run 3GB? Anyways, I upgraded from 512MB to 2GB in one of my rigs and it made a HUGE difference in BF2 - not just load times, but FPS too.

CR6
no i will take out the old memory, althoe i might try it . If you are not overclocking, it is worth it to keep both pairs in. The newer 1GB sticks likely have slower timings than your old ones. Do you know the specs for both? If you are overclocking, esp. with an AMD rig, then keep one pair in for possible better stability. pz3
keeping one pair in most likely for stabability but if what you say is true ill just dump them all together since im not overclocking anything at the moment. 2x512mb XMS, CMX512 3200LL (not listed on corsair website anymore ) 2-3-2-6 2x1024 XMS Twinx2048-3200c2pt 2-3-3-
CrowmanUK
Well if you want to host a coop online game you're in for a treat, you cant do it through the game! You have to run the dedicated server to get the coop server going and then join it. Doh! They should take a look at the way it was done in BF1942, great interface that was

pz3
tossed all the ram in just a hour ago. had a couple of quarks running the timings at 2336... would freeze my system up .... just let it auto configuret wich is probly 2338 ... works good thus far no frame per second increase but the little stutters i had left over on retail version were gone. but now im installing the 1.3 patch and gunna see if all my stutters disapear with a patch version. BTW Photoshop is absalutly loving the amount of memory.... Drawing with my wacom tablet is even noticablly much more smooth. I love it. Gav80
Well if you want to host a coop online game you're in for a treat, you cant do it through the game! You have to run the dedicated server to get the coop server going and then join it. Doh! They should take a look at the way it was done in BF1942, great interface that was Actually, you can host direct from in-game. The only problem seems to be that not everyone has the co-op option in the gametype menu. You need to choose the multiplayer tab when you start up BF2, and then create local (as though you were going to host a regular conquest match). On the left side of the screen, right above where you choose the map(s), there's a "game type" drop-down box, which defaults to "conquest". In there, there should be a "co-op" option. Set that, and you're away. Like I said though, not everyone appears to have it thanks to yet more patch issues. I personally have it some of the time, but not always. Sometimes I have to restart BF2 and try again to find it. But when it shows up, it works - I've hosted co-op games with my brother. What they need to do for co-op now (aside from fixing the bug above) is make it so that you can have your unlocks in co-op, and more importantly set the number of bots for each round and have the larger map sizes instead of just the 16-player, and most important of all enable the squad comms!!! It's supposed to be a "co-operative" mode... It's supposed to be at least semi-tactical gameplay (not like GR of course, but slightly more than just a Quake 3 Arena deathmatch)... It would be far more co-operative and tactical if you could actually talk to the people on your team! They recognised that for the comms when playing on ranked servers online, why should it be any different when playing co-op?
