tecmic
Hi, just had notification from UBI, mine was shipped yesterday. Here tomorrow, maybe? A few posts back somebody suggested that the full game was smoother (optimised)? and lower spec rigs would run it better. Anybody else found that yet? I'm on:- Athlon 64 2Gb 1.5Gb RAM Radeon 9800 PRO Not too bad on lower settings but def need to upgrade Mike. ote=Danish1705,May 3 2006, 09:50 AM] My copy of GRAW will arrive not later then 17th May 2006. Cant wait to install and play. I also upgrade my rig. ---danish ← Edited May 3, 2006 by tecmic
KRP 56
OK one question for all you lucky dogs who are playing your hearts out while I'm not. How many SP modes does GRAW offer? ← Anyone! I'll I want to know is if GRAW has SP gametypes like GR (firefight, defend, lonewolf etc.) and what are they and are they playable on both SP and MP maps?
MadMike
Please stop posting when you expect your copy of GRAW to arrive. This is utterly irrelevant to the subject: "GRAW FULL GAME FEEDBACK ONLY" Also I personally would like for this thread to be mostly FEEDBACK for the full game and not so much comments to the feedback, if you know what I mean. Otherwise the true feedback will just drown and this thread be very difficult to read in a day or two. Thanks. Savage-nl
Ok SP is kinda cool but I bought this game to play online with friends. Now it just came in and i can't see or create servers. No one can, so only my comment is: how can they release this? Edited May 3, 2006 by Savage-nl
Cutter
I would just to say that this game rocks ! With a few minor fixes (mine and others suggestions are found HERE) This game will have exceeded my expectations ! (this is of course if my specific suggestions for fixes are resolved ) Good Job GRIN !
Stalker_Zero
Ok dang nabbit someone start to seriously review this game including all the stuff we have been talking about from the demo. How does the retail version compare? Weapons (how many...more than demo?) Graphics Final number of maps Final number of missions Number of mp gametypes and what are they And for goodness sake somebody figure out how to mod the coop limit already!! That should only take a decent modder 5 minutes flat to figure out. ← Hello!!!!! ← Demo and Retail game feel exactly the same. There is no difference except for the fact you have the full game to play except for one part of a mission. Not much more to say. Weapons, well, there's the real problem I have. GR1 exceeds here in every way except for customisation. Colin had suggested that there are more weapons in the full version...still waiting for them.... . All I've seen so far is what you get in the demo: Primary: SCAR L SCAR H Mk46 MRC M99 M8 Secondary: M9 Glock M8 Compact MP5SD6 Others: ZEUS MPAR Graphics, well the graphics are no different either. This will depend on your rig though. Mine is pretty much as high end as you can get minus going into Crossfire/SLI. I can run everything at full at 1600x1200 with no worries. Looks fantastic. I don't give two hoots about no AA. It looks fine. This is a draw back from the deferred shading or something (IIRC) they are using. Don't care, looks good. Maps for MP off the top of my head numbers 5. Not alot. Should have been more. Don't know how many SP missions there are. But they tend to be quite lengthy on the harder settings, and the enemy AI is really very good. Ghosts AI is good too, though they tend to be a pain in the rear sometimes. I don't like how they are spaced out so far. Small teams would rather stay rather close then spread out over 50 - 100, which I have seen some times. It is difficult to bring down heavy fire on an enemy position when your team is blundering about 50 metres down the road. You should be able to set team spacing and break your team into 2 fireteams. GR1 wins here again. Squad controls and movement were MUCH better in the first. MP gametypes are COOP and Domination(I think that's what it is ??) haven't really looked at MP yet. Not enough servers or people playing yet. Thats it really. Good game, but lacks a few things which made GR1 really shine. Squad control needs much more focus, it's clumsy and sometimes really annoying. There needs to be a buttload more weapon loadouts. I want M4A1, M16A4/M16A4 SAM-R, M14 DMR, SR25, M240 or M60E4....so on. ACOG's !!!!! Where the heck are the optics ?? Engagements are sometime's over the useful range of the Aimpoint and EOTech, ACOG's ARE A MUST !! I also want to be able to mount optics and sights on the Mk46.. why only iron sights ?? Deploying the bipods are also something I want. Weapon selection need ALOT MORE FOCUS AND VARIETY. Overall I like it, but it does need work. EDIT: Would have liked some customisation of the kit the Ghosts wear. Different helmets, load bearing equipment, different uniform (ACU, Marpat....so on), at the very least in the MP game). ← I'm sorry but that just isn't enough weapons. I hope that they are truly working on the add-on and more importantly that we have SOME say about what goes in it. NOW......NOW is the time when GRIN should be hanging out here at the forums. When they are working and not goofing off and hanging out like because they were essentially done and wanted just to talk to us. We need more weapons. We need more and varied gametypes for sp and mp (SIEGE PLEASE) We would like to have options for other gear besides weapons More feedback please on the retail version.....someone? Papa6
I'm thorughly impressed with the COOP side of the game. but domination!?! naw, gimme some last man standing or siege and I'll be set. SP: with game difficulty set to "hard" this is a real toughie to get through. haven't been able to get to my second teammate as we got scattered by the high winds at the beginning. graphics, I'm using the x1800GTO and graphics are smoothe. there are soooo many corners and hides, none will have an advantage. take yer time mates, you'll need to be careful I think alot of the fears about graphics are unfounded as i have my card at 1280x1024 conservatively with most settings on high except texture quality. Added: I'm not seeing jaggies that i can tell. i think the fears were mostly demo related.. Edited May 3, 2006 by Papa6

In one breath you want realism, in the next you say you "need" more. It's not a matter of "need" it's a matter of "want" and unless you ask more nicely, you probably won't be getting it from GRIN and will have to wait for modders to do that for you... if they get access to the editor. Actually we sould be getting a smaller selection if you really want to push the "realism" to extremes: -The XM-8 and it's variants should be removed considering they were not accepted in the SCAR trials, and that they potentially may not make it to production (last I heard OICW Inc. I was cancelled). -SOCOM has fallen out with the M9, and is looking for a .45 pistol. The Glock is not an official SOCOM weapon. -The MCR is a just concept from Crye Associates, there is no mention of it anywhere on official Army/SOCOM documents. -The MP-5 (and I'm assuming it's SD variants) lost favour with SOCOM after they deciding it was inadiquate against potentially armoured oponents; their role being taken by the MK-18 CQBR (an M-4 based sub carbine), which itself may be replaced by the FN SCAR-L CQC. As far as the timeline is considered the only weapons that should be in the list are (off the top of my head): -FN SCAR-L (3 variants+EGLM) -FN SCAR-H (potentially 6 variants+EGLM) The SCAR-H sv would potentially replace all M-14/AR-10 based weapons SOCOM uses. -MK-46 -MK-48 -M-109 -M-107 Either way, the subject's been argued to death in other threads, I'm content with the current list, my only wish would be to have the SCAR-H CQC replaced with an SV, and add a 4x ACOG. GabRaz
"GRIN - Disreguard any neg comments on the M8. ****Chilly concentrates trying to use Jedi mind tricks.*****" lol I'd rather see them add the all variants of the SCAR (apart from the 7.62x39 ones), they can even keep the selection as it is, and have the barrel length choices similar to the add-ons (that way you don't have 6 different weapons). Anyway, this is not the thread for this kind of topic I guess. Edited May 3, 2006 by GabRaz

But many units worldwide in various operations collectively have a very large assortment of equipment and weapons. Since this is also a game we would like to have those options so we can try different things out. *sigh* we want [GR] but updated. I've already come to realize and accepted that we will not be getting what we "want". But its good just to hear it and to acknowledge it just the same. In anycase, this is it guys. This is the new gr. And anything modders do it won't be for me......it will be for us. ........if they get access to the editor. Reb
Righty, i don't have much to say when it comes to the technical side of GRAW (i think most of you know my opinion about it). But i have to say this: This is the first game that i like playing in single player. I usually never like playing games SP, but this just rocks! Weapons are fine, i like de addon's to them (scope, silencer etc.), AI is pretty good and physics are very good I have not tried out the MP yet (only on Hamachi, so that doesnt count). Only thing i have to say about it yet: I didnt like the chatscreen on top If i had to give it a grade/mark (grade or mark? whats the propper English word? ) i would give it: Gameplay and overall game: 8 out of 10 Technical: 6.5 out of 10 (thanks to the physics, else the mark would be lower) Edited May 3, 2006 by Reb

enven
I just spoke with a friend who is in 3rd Group. He stated that the M4 is still the primary Rifle..and Scar's are being placed with some 'black units'...The groups really excited about the weapon and the new stuff being released.. He also said that the Glock gets issued to only some folks. Also: M249 and M240 G are the primary saw's at this moment and the Bravo is being phased out finally. So yeah...SCAR is most likely going to be a primary..Maybe.... -Enven
BetaMO
First of all, proof that I paid: With that out of the way, I just installed it about 45 minutes ago and played a bit of single player, then went right to Domination MP! The map I was playing - I forget which one, DOH! - was really nice, with dark, dark areas that needed NV to manuever and stairwells that led up so folks could kill from above. I had a great time blasting around even though we were outnumbered 2:1 and lost! I think this game is great, even with no AA, although I wish it did have it... CBA_Bludawg
is it me or is there no sounds at all, birds, dogs, commands from leaders etc. it seems very quite for a first person shooter. org GR had alot of sounds battle in background, had no lag graphics are a kick, need some sounds added and last man standing. get rid of the buying gun and addons crap. Brainman2k
got my copy today. originally the release is tomorrow, but they sold me one nevertheless. first thing: the german version is multilanguage. so if you choose "english" at the beginning of the install, the game will be in english. to be honest: the german voice-overs etc are quite crappy, so i stayed with the english version. second thing: the performance is much better than that of the demo! this is excactly is was hoping for! third thing: i love this game! i only played a few minutes, but all i can say is: grin brought the franchise to a whole new level. this IS the new ghost recon in all aspects. now, please, give us addons with woodland- and desert-maps! cant wait to play some more...but now.....i'll have to get some sleep.
