Stinger 0
More specific linkage? All I see is DX9 End User Runtime...

300Mag 0
Sorry about not linking it. Unlike previous versions, they kinda burried this one. I grabbed it off a website link and figured that MS had done the same as before. Thanks for the assist. I got a little performance bump with this one. Stable with GR and the RS SP demo. connie lingus 0
Direct X 9.0 was included in the retail Ravenshield, on installation of the game, you are asked if you would like to upgrade to 9.0.
300Mag 0
This is actually 9.0a, which is new today. Some bug fixes beyond 9.0. It appears to have improved things just a tad for me. Seems like a good download. No problems yet.
NightCrawler 137
I think I'll wait a few days this time around, after the fiasco last time.
Dark Ranger 0
You see, this is exactly why I didn't d/l 9 End-User Runtime. They always tell you this is the "final release". Looks like I'm waiting another few months for DX9.
Zebb 7
Mines running fine with the new DX 9.0a.....
snakebite1967 0
that link no longer works hmm cant find it anywhere now almost seems as if they removed it im running the endtime version , was hoping to grab this one too
Urban_Tiger 0
???????? The link works and have been to the Microsoft website too to have a butchers around but there isn't a "9a" listed there??? Plenty of the various versions of "9.0" but not a 9a !
NightCrawler 137
The link works but gives this message... The download you requested is unavailable. If you continue to see this message when trying to access this download, you might try the "Search for a Download" area on the Download Center home page. So I guess this means that they don't want me to have it.
Stinger 0
Maybe there was a problem with it...I have it and hope there sure wasnt.
supasniper 0
i got it and all seems fine but you never know with microsoft products...
300Mag 0
Guys, DirectX 9.0a is back up on Microsoft's site. No idea why thy took it down, but they did. Here's the link: DirectX 9.0a The date plublished is TODAY. I would encourage anyone (myself included) that downloaded it in the past two days to download this one. Since I can't grab this as a standalone executable, no way to perform a CRC and filesize check to see if anything has changed. Better to be safe and make certain you have the latest baseline. snakebite1967 0
thanx Mag got it
Dark Ranger 0
Well, just d/led and installed 9a in both my computers *holds breath and crosses fingers*. Hopefully, I will not have any problems, and now I can finally run 3D Mark '03. Thanks again 300Mag BTW, I pulled up DxDiag and ran all the tests again. However, I did notice something interesting: All of the DX files are listed as "Retail Version" except one...mfc42.dll, it's listed as a "Beta Version". Hmmmm... Aggressor 0
I decided to download Direct X 9.0a to see if it would make a noticeable difference over Direct X 9.0. Well it did give my 32MB onboard around 9-10 extra fps Have played a few firefights and everything seems to run just fine. Thanks for the info.
Dark Ranger 0
Well, one major difference is shown in Raven Shield: I was running DX8.1 before(which is ok for the game), however, I was getting constant pops and crackles. Tried acceleration features etc. But when I upgraded to DX9.0a, the square waves went away! So I will play with it some more this weekend, and make sure it was the DX9.0a that fixed it, cause I did have to reinstall RVSH once... Side note: Not sure it this is an attribute of 9.0a, but I hit 309 FPS (without AA) in the hotel stairway of the Embassy map...369 without shadows and high graphics settings...
