OneEyedBartender
Well I cant play for more than 15 minutes without my game freezing. Its weird b/c just the Video freezes, if I press the move keys I can hear everything going on in the background, like shuffling, firing, etc. I was wondering if anyone else was having this problem. the.cosmic.pope.
Im having this problem now as well. It wasnt an issue before, but it seems to be occuring more and more. I cant go 10minutes without a freeze. Keeping the physx driver open doesnt help. Any other ideas? I cant help think that this is a stunning game, thats ruined from countless major bugs such as this. JASGripen
I have had this issue too. And yes it were increasing up to the point were I only had time to browse the settings. I guess it is a driver issue, I am at it atm. (have sent for a new HD now, unrelated problem though). =WO=TekHousE
As for the Physx drivers..I don't even have them installed..So I cannot see that as being a problem either way. (causing or stopping crashes) My GRAW has not crashed yet..
NoQuarter
I get the same thing usually 20 min. into the game and right before a save point...blank screen but sounds intact, you can even activate the map, change weapons, etc., but no joy. A couple of days ago a new one popped up... the game totally freezes, no interaction and no sound, but a nice little partial screen of a blue sky... is'nt that nice! ROCO*AFZ*
Sounds like an overheat. Pull open your side cover and play. See if you have the same issue.
JASGripen
My issue (presented partially above) was (perhaps still is!?) freeze with ripples on the screen and sometimes some looping sound.
Druac_Blaise
I get the same thing...it either freezes the screen as is, but I still hear the sounds going and can do things with the keyboard and hear that, but no movement on the screen...OR...it freezes with mostly a black screen (with a horizon at the top.). This happens after a while in one mission. So maybe this is a heat issue, I will have to test that out.

I thought it might be as the weather was hot here for a while when I was playing. However, today the temp in my house is 62 and the video card is not getting hot, and I am still freezing (Quaterback Save Point 3). It seems rather random where I freez, but it happens so often that I have been stuck on this part of the SP game for over a week now. EVERY time I try to get past this portion of the game I freez at one point or another before reaching the next save point.
JASGripen
Have you ever had the same type of freeze when just playing around at the settings menu a bit longer than usual? I have had that, it seems to be an issue tied to the time GRAW has been going, not how long you have been in actual game play.
the.cosmic.pope.
This problem *appears* to have stopped for me (hasnt happened in about an hour of gameplay, before, it was happening every 5-10 minutes). I upgraded to the latest (non-beta) nVidia drivers. Is this an nVidia driver issue?

I upgraded to the latest (non-beta) nVidia drivers. Is this an nVidia driver issue? I guess so. I got NVidia and I got a hunch that my drivers for the motherboard got a hit in the first installation. I will get back with a new HD in a day or so. Then I will do driver installations as correct as anyone else. What drivers did you update when you did the update? GHOST_Sup
One of my clanmates had this problem and fixed it. I'll ask him to come over and give you guys a hand. Please do. OK. The one thing all of you have in common is Nvidia. Please try the following: 1) Install coolbits 2) After installing Coolbits you will have a couple more options in the Nvidia Panel...specifically a function called "Frames to Render Ahead" 3) Change that from 3 to 0 and hit Apply. Let me know if that fixes it.
GHOST_Trout
The above instructions will fix anyone's problems that run an nvidia card and have lockup issues where they can still hear sound in the background.
NoQuarter
Thanks GHOST_Sup, GHOST_Trout Cool Bits seems to have done the trick. I downloaded NVTray and NVTweek, both have good features in them. Thanks again for the heads up!
