Questions about Rig specs, hdmi and dvi

Ok I purchased the ati sapphire x850xt which can be easily overclocked to a PE. It has a DVI port the back as well as d-sub. My 23" hdtv monitor has a HDMI port on the back as well as vga (is d-sub and vga the same?). I found newgg sells this type of cable the native resolution of the tv is 1366x768 and the video card has hdtv resolution at 1080i 16:9 aspec which the hdtv should be able to handle

I'm building the computer from ground up, I would like to get a x1800 but its way too expensive. My mobo supporst ati crossfire so i could get the x850 crossfire later on but would this video card combo be stronger than a single 1800xt?

Here's my rig, I was hoping it would run GRAW on Medium or even High since my LCD doesnt support supper high resolutions:
