Night-Hawk
Am I mistaken in that UBI is the one that is responsible for there being any patches, expansions, etc.? I assume they have to pay for any of that, in that they have to pay GRIN to do the work? In this case, which I didn't really think about when hearing Bo promising this stuff after release, I am even more worried than before. We can't argue about GRIN's dedication and hard work in regards to finally bringing this title back to the PC fans. However, we can argue big time about UBI's track record in regards to supporting their games and responding to what the community asks for AFTER release. This, I think, is what worries most of these people saying they will not buy the game. They have been down this road with UBI before. I totally believe in GRIN and I think they will do whatever UBI allows them to do in regards to supporting the community; I just have LITTLE faith in UBI allowing it. This is the main reason we are worried about things missing in the initial release. ← That is EXACTLY what I said in the thread about dedicated server files. But it looks like no one understands how it works. Ubisoft is funding GRIN to develop GRAW. If Ubisoft decide to cut the funds on GRIN a month after release, then say goodbye to your patches and anti-cheat updates or whatever because I doubt GRIN employees will work for free. This is why I am upset about Punkbuster and Dedicated files not being included on release. And now TvT. (DM player, respawn hater here ). I mean, this kind of thing often happens in the gaming industry. GRIN is not id software or EPIC, I doubt they can afford to release 200MB+ worth of free downloadable content twice a year. Btw, I love GR, still playing it, but I'm not a GRAW fanboy yet. I still fear it'll have that console feel to it. And I ain't really that confident anymore about the Tom Clancy genre. (Lockdown anyone ?). And now no TvT...will have to try before buying that's for sure. Grats to the GRIN guys about the way they handle the community, I've never seen such good community management from a game dev, ever. Now if every developpers would interact with their fanbase as much as you guys do, we would have dozens of AAA titles a year !
Judge_Recluse
How did this screenshot end up on this page?? http://www.ghostrecon.com/uk/newspost.php?id=15387 Bo himself said that there have never been any Diamonds in MP and that someone must have superimposed them on that screenshot, yet it's now been added to the offical screenshots section. Something really screwy is going on here. It's like GR:AW and the entire community surrounding it just slipped into an episode of the twilight zone. ← I for one think Bo is correct on this. The ghost furthest away has a diamond on him that is blurred slightly and looks different than the other diamonds in the pic. I did notice there is dust flying up from the ground which would blur it, but the diamond is created and show on the cros coms, and would in fact not be blurred out by distance objects. As Im sure there would be no difference if the ghost had been standing behind a wall.
SAF_Night Scope
Ok, here's how it is: I don't see what Rugg wrote as an insult or whatever. He stated that himself and his teammates, as well as other squads, are upset about this, and are reconsidering buying the game. What's so insulting about that? There was no MP info besides this Domination mode. The game's gone gold, and only now Ubi decides to tell us that GRAW won't have LMS on release. What kind of reaction did you expect? They didn't include the only gametype that really matters for a lot of people, and now it's too late to ask for it. GRIN shouldn't have taken that as an offense or insult. Last Man Standing/Team Deathmatch was the most popular TvT gametype in GR1, and that's what pretty much every ladder had as its main mode, so they should've expected us to be upset about it. It doesn't make sense to me. Fine, there should be a patch to add TDM/LMS to the game, but when will that happen? Even if it comes out a week or two after release, it's still non-sense that you have to wait and download something that should've been already there. Moreover, the release of said patch, much like MP info, will be in Ubi's hands... and that definitely doesn't help.
ruggbutt
I remember back in the day when we'd filter the non LMS servers out on ASE. It didn't even make a dent in the server list. You still had to scroll forever. There's alot of coop and Dom/HH players active here. I just wonder if maybe the LMS guys didn't give enough of a showing and GRIN thought that those two gametypes were most popular.

thrush213
judging by their description of coop, looks like you'd still be on the first 3 missions when their 2nd patch comes out hehe
Colin
I'll apologize up front in case this has already been clarified. Will there be dedicated server support for Linux in the retail release? I find it quite irritating with the number of whiners complaining about lack of TDM when the devs give you a statement that it will be added shortly in a patch. Especially the one quote about why bother playing the game now when there is BF2, now that is laughable, lol. I know a lot of players are set in their ways but why not give the new Domination mode a fair try 1st and maybe some spawn limited co-op play until your beloved TDM is added?? BTW - I'm also on old bastage that spent an ungodly amount of hours playing Doom and Duke DM. I still play DOD to get my weekly DM requirements with a hint of tactics thrown in but much prefer the necessary team play that Recon has always provided. Thanks in advance, Rat ← No this is from Ubisoft.
Mandelbrot
Give me a good SP game with 4 player Co-Op for now and I'll be happy to wait for the patch to let us have more than 4 player Co-Op and other modes of MP.
Joseph_Q
A 512Kbits of data transfer upload rate for a server on a full game. The game interface offers an option to limit the bandwidth, so that players with a limited connection can still enjoy the gameplay with less destruction effects (although a destroyed cover will still be destroyed), and will not drag down the other players on the same server, who have a better connection. Ok , I know what upload is needed to host a server but please someone tell me what connection is required to play game with all destructions on 32 server. ? I have 256/128 kbits ( 32/16 kB/s ) ← That won't handle a full 32 player server, possibly 9 players, based on your 1/4 of the quoted upload bandwidth. Ok ... one clarification please. Do i need 512 kbits upload to play MP ? or do i need 512 to host sever ? Cause i think there is not many people in Poland wih 512 kbits upload. I cant imagine that this conection is not enough to play infantry only MP game I can play BF2 32 servers with good ping (50-110) and everybody know how much is going on during a BF2 round - infantry shootouts, dogfights over this troopers heads, armor battles , tanks,APCs etc etc and all this on a Huge good looking map so pleae dont tell that this connection is to low to play GRAW MP

NOX
I am excited and pleased, I look forward to matching in Domination. Yes I agree that UBI made a huge error, but that is UBI, I got flamed because I expressed Rugbutts concern two months ago-yes Mathew Gerard I can read, but I do not feel like spelling your name correctly! UBI is going to loose people because of their terrible business practices, past, present and future. I am not sure if can get a squad up and running out of the line, but I will try, many folks have moved on and have really bad feelings because of the Console kiddies getting theirs and we had to wait. I liked playing SAR it was a hoot and this new DOM mod will match and will be a hoot also! I just like playing with my friends and the delay that UBI created with their mismanagement of this title is directly their responsibility. I was not going to buy this game a month ago, but GRIN's and especially BO's interaction with the forum convinced me otherwise-I beleive he has showed a good faith attempt to deliver, and as I have posted and let GRIN know without any doubt-that they have my support in this title and others with or without UBI-actually I am hoping without. Yes UBI you are going to get some of my money, but I hope you waste it on some fantastically stupid idea, but then again you come up with a new one every year. Thanks GRIN, BO, SVEN, Hansel and Gretel I will be buying three copies the day it is released! NOX
pangbang
He got ###### and left and won't answer the question. And he attacks me cuz we're doing a Crytek backed mod for the Crysis engine. What utter BS. I've been looking forward to GR3 for some time. He's not gonna turn this around on me. I'm not the only one who is upset about this. ← You sound like a right baby, for 1 i am not a fan of LMS, so what if there are others like me that get bored of it and want something new, and dont want to play LMS, then i aint happy if its included. You should be grateful you are getting another ghost recon. You really think UBI would give a s-h-1-t if they were developing graw? i highly doubt that, you would just get a port from xbox360, like lockdown. GRIN has given alot to us and you should respect this and not have a little baby fit cause you dont get what you want. If it was up to me i would ban you from this site so the previleage of getting info, help and support from GRIN didnt excist to you.
