semperfi_bohica 0
Bo, thanks again for your time on these forums. Your professionalism exhibited here and in the product is why I have already Pre-ordered the game for myself and younger brother. I am, like so many others, very excited about the MP modes. would you be so kind as to talk in greater detail about the MP modes to those of us who could not be there due to large volumes of water, and lastly, will there be 'Seige' type play? Thanks again, all the best. PS I hope your contract with UBI has sales volumes as aggregate points for GRIN, this game is gonna be hot! So if you have not received an answer there you know why. ←
semperfi_bohica 0
Yes, very good thankyou. Bo's statement was on the 3rd of March. Presently, it's April 17th. Focusing on his operative words "RIGHT NOW" March 3rd is not right now, now is it? Theory called precedent and subsequent & recently Bo said he would go into detail "soon" about MP. Bo, I know I speak for many here when I say "soon" just arrived!!! Looks great! Thanks again. Edited April 17, 2006 by semperfi_bohica
Striker-1991 3
Razz said in the I27 video there are two multiplayer modes COOP and Domination. No words about other modes.
BlackSmoke 0
I would think that there would at least be the now "expected" modes of DM and TDM on top of Domination and COOP.

Personally, I will be more interested in the Coop over the Domination mode. Simply because I dont like the fact that you can buy equipment on the battlefield with "tactical points". It sounds like a fun game for awhile but the unrealistic aspect of it would become dull. I am more of a realistic goal type player. Siege and SaR or even HambHill..would be my game of choice if its included. If a siege game is included, I would most likely be Siege and Coop only. I doubt SAR is included, because there are no civilians in the game. Shame, that was my favorite mode in [GR]. If we get something thats similiar to what IGOR was. Hopefully we can use our imaginations like before, and create some new gametypes. I once created a 5 hostage SAR, all hostages were vulnerable to gunfire they were also spread out randomly at different places on the map,. Lots of tactics involved there. ;-)
1234321 0
what exactly do you do in the domination mode?
VeLocityChaos 0
what exactly do you do in the domination mode? ← Note how it says you buy equipment with tactical points. The whole thing sounds fun, but it's not something I would want to play Fulltime as a GR gamer. I wouldnt want to play in a match and lose because someone decided to buy more grenades when they spammed them all. Edited April 17, 2006 by VeLocityChaos

Focusing on his operative words "RIGHT NOW" March 3rd is not right now, now is it? ← I understand, bro. We all understand, but I would hate to think that he would need to go back and edit his post from "right now" to "until further notice" when it seems obvious that "until further notice" was implied. If you wanted to make the semantic argument that this is no longer right now, I would point out that neither was the minute subsequent to that posting. We're all dying for it. We are all in the same boat, in danger of drowning in our own drool. But Bo has indicated that he would love to talk about but can't, and that he will as soon as he can. I'm sure that the first we will hear him talk about MP modes is when we are actually reading his words for the first time, and it's not going to be in response to a question. Patience. 1234321 0
so they make you buy stuff, just like in CS?
BlackSmoke 0
If I read correctly they do not make you buy stuff. At the beginning of the match you are able to pick a weapon and such. I get the feeling that these equipment points are more for restocking on ammo and grenades, not for the actual buying of weapons.

Pre-game you pick your equipment. Then during the game while making kills and securing zones you get "tactical points" errr "tactic money". Then you are able to go to the supply zones and buy more grenades, or possibly trade for different rifle while in mid game. So as long as you are scoring points and getting to the zones, you will never run out of ammo. That is what I personally wouldnt find "match friendly". It would be a fun game to just play on. But for serious competition with 0-3 respawns. I think you should get the loadout you started with. This would allow people to waste their ammo, spamming grenades, because they can just "buy" more with fake money. Edited April 18, 2006 by VeLocityChaos
XenoSoft 0
Better make sure your team controls the supply zones =)
BlackSmoke 0
I think it's a clever idea. And I'm not going to be negative and shoot it down before I even have a chance to play it. It could be the greatest thing since sliced bread.
WhiteKnight77 1
This is the MP game mode I wrote about last August. While the name wasn't given, this is what Bo told me about. It sounded interesting then and still sounds interesting. Thanks for the early hint Bo.

It could be the greatest thing since sliced bread. ← It is a clever Idea..It sounds very fun. Im not really speaking negative about it. Even though I havent played it. It states right there on that screen shot plain as day, you get tactical points and you can buy stuff with it. This in itself makes the objective unrealistic. I'd rather play serious gaming on a real objective, with real penalties. You spam all your nades, tough luck, you dont get anymore. Like Siege. I`ll still play the Domination mode though. It sounds kinda familiar to the Joint Ops style of gameplay called "Advance and Secure". Without the tactic money. So, in this case, I can tell I wouldnt wanna match on this full time without playing it.
semperfi_bohica 0
VeLocityChaos you are so right. There is a big difference b/w squad level tactics and an "in game Bazar." I like things simple, that is why SEIGE is so great. GIVE US SEIGE! Domination mode sounds a bit like BF2, and of that game I am no fan. But, as it has been said, one needs to see how it is played. However, after spending fifty dollars, I don't want to have to buy anthing in the game, especially items that are bought on 'playing' time. So, we shall see. Metal_Jacket 0
Please forgive me guys if I sound a little vague, but does anyone know why the devs can't talk about MP at this late stage?
Xeno 0
I'm sure that even if your gametype that each and every person loves doesnt ship with the game ....will or could be created by the mod community. Maybe this is your calling to be a modder. If the tools that ship with the game are as powerful as they say then we can expect alot of gametypes amoung many other things. I hope also that mod tools are available to allow players to create new MP modes/games. I think we should wait and see how the domination mode plays out, instead of assuming already how people will behave in the game. I personally think the domination mode sounds interesting, after years of playing DM, TDM and CTF I need some innovation in MP.
