The IGN videos really spice up things. My impressions just from the videos are --

Graphics - A+ ( It looks almost photorealistic )

Sound - A+ ( I love the gun sounds )

Animations - A+ ( Wow, you can see why there are 4000+ animations )

Maps and level design - A+

Friendly AI - seems good.

Enemy AI - I reserve my comments on that till I play myself and hope that the IGN guys were playing on easy.

Effects - A+.

Tactical Map - Seems interesting.

You're forgetting the most important thing GAMEPLAY, but ofcause that must wait to release. :)

I am not forgetting gameplay but, just based on these videos, it is not possible to form a clearcut opinion. We have to play it ourselves.

- Defragmentation of minivan with a pistol

Yup that seem'd very odd.

Whats up whit that GRIN ?

Yowza!

Well the idea is to have the cars more fragile than realistic to spice up the firefights. Remeber that ussually cars are solid blocks of unmovable concrete or nukes about to happen in games. Here you have doors and parts flying of as bullets rip through. So if you use it for cover it will be cover for only a while - or shoot off a door and snipe through the car at unsuspecting foes. If you don't the AI will :)

So instead of the Solid Block or Nuke or having to fire at a car for 20 min before it breaks we let it break a bit easier. Remeber that in a fight you don't have time to stand around as the guys did and aim a few clipps on the car

That is up with that :)

I see where you're coming from, do you have to hit it more times with the pistol to break it appart compared to the rifles?

Yepp you do.

7-8 bullets from the glock would mean it would take 3-4 from a rifle?...to knock an entire cardoor off. You dont need to be shooting at it for 20mins but come on, 12-15 rifle rounds sounds better to me.

Hmm where to begin ...

(Remember, Just my 2 cents, or kronors, or pence, wherever you are)

Its nice to see in the first video I watched (limo) how the tac map works. To watch the player set orders for his machine gunner to suppress an area and actually see that gunner in the corresponding position (and effectively donig what he was ordered to do) when the action resumed sends shivers up my spine.

Watching the physics in the second video (destruction), and the player shooting thru a chain link fence and a planked fence in the 3rd video (tactics) makes me think the tactical approach in the game is going to be 3 or 4 times more immersive than GR1. ... Excellent!

The fact that the vehicles destruct more easily than in real life, and Bo's response saying this was done for a more dynamic gameplay enviroment, is also encouraging. The camping days of GR1 multiplayer, protected behind doors and fences and vehicles, just got a whole lot harder, and good. And I'm a camping whore when it comes to Multiplayer T v T, err, I mean cautious ...

Bo, although I for one would have been pleased if you had bothered to show enough attention to detail to actually have blood, being sprayed from a body upon bullet impact, actually boil and sizzle at different temperatures depending on the calibre of the bullet. (Please note for those who require it: last sentence contains sarcastic humour). However I do agree with your point that I don't think this game will require it.

Stalker Zero, Yes I am also waiting to play this game, and I will reserve my opinion on the Gameplay until then, but everything GRIN has done on this forum and all of the available media on GRAW to date has gone a long way to removing the taste of bitterness every time I type UBI. This is saying alot, and for that I will give GRIN my upmost respect now, plus unlimited fawning and devotion, and if requested my DNA in any form ...

Finally and probably the best compliment I can make. No real info on multiplayer yet, and this is my only interest. TvT is what I am dying for but with everything I have seen, GRIN you are actually making me want to play the entire SP campaign. For me anyways, that is a huge compliment, so thanks.

Ok.

no gore? mmmm. a patch for you UBI o Grin guys , or who ever grab the next contract to keep this next expansion pack going .

Or we make our own gore "Decals" something call mod=modification.

Stalker Zero you are not alone bro. we are observing and reading and waiting for this guys of "Grin" to work in the patch once the game is release to the "ppl" and real performance issues appear , so np. you know and they know this is the game industry so........

Anyhow nice "movie" do lol for the new guys , but for us we wait and see , remember you guys been working in this game as commneted for more than 6 months and still you are gonna be working "hopefully" in the Sp and Mp patches and so on.

so take it easy BOys you will see and learn .

Cheers Stalker Zero and good long weekend ........for all .

Nice videos.

The good:

-Sound.. desmond, we finally get to hear some of the things you have been advocating, and it sounds good!

-AI. I have seen some really surprising manouvers by the friendly AI in these videos, its all there to see in the "Moving and Attacking" video. Just take a look how they take cover when being attacked.. and how they respond to it.

-Graphics. This one speaks for itself : )

-Physics. Ok, so the "rip-a-car-apart-with-a-glock" IS a bit over the edge. But I think Bo made a good statement on this.

-Penetration. Did the player shoot through that wood fence at the end of the "Moving and Attacking" video? If so..then yay! :grin1::grin1:

The bad:

I cant find anyting bad : (

I would just like to modify my statement on Enemy AI. Most of the enemies were intelligently seeking out cover but then unnecessarily coming out of cover completely and dieing, even though they were being fired upon. The reason for this slight hitch, in this otherwise perfect picture, is probably because IGN was playing the game on easy. I am sure that Grin is aware of this problem also and has taken the requisite steps to finetune this aspect of the AI in the harder settings.

I thought so. :)
