Maintaining visual perspectives

I just started playing GR and I have a newbie question. I looked in the manual but didn't see anything and did some searches on the forum. I am running GR 1.4.0.0 on Windows XP. I am just starting the single player campaign.

Is there any way to maintain the visual perspective when switching between fireteams? By this, I mean I have my sniper in fireteam C zoomed in on an enemy ready to fire as needed. I then switch to another fireteam to check on their position and adjust slightly if needed to make sure that they are in postion. When I switch back to my sniper in team 3, he is no longer in zoom mode or targeted in on the enemy. Thus I have to reaquire the enemy again.

While this is not a big deal, I just wanted to check with "old pro's" to see if I am missing anything.

Ah one of the daunting hurdles- friendly AI. Sounds like you're doing everything right, except you expect your sniper to take the shot (i presume). The best advice I can give you is don't expect the friendly AI to help you (ie, understand what you want them to do), you'll just get frustrated. That being said, when they do help you, you'll feel good about them (like shooting enemys you can't see while following you).

Also, you can use 'Page Up" and 'Page Down' to cycle through individual soldiers. Took me 3 months to figure that out.

Unfortunately the AI won't stay zoomed in. Something else, is they may not be looking at the enemy that you saw, but at one they percieve to be a bigger threat. Now a sniper can see a ways off and if the enemy won't show up on the command map, he will not percieve it as a threat. Hope this helps.
