Toniezz
Summary of this preview are: - comparison to Lunchbox360: Yes Mexico city, Yes you are Scott Mitchell and yes you still have all the gadgets and toys (maybe some more). But for the rest it's totally different (underscribes the 'not a port' statement); - First noticable change of mission planning: you are not helidropped as in the XBox version...no you will jump out of an airplane to make a freefall into the city (don't forget to equip a parachute! , sorry my joke couldn't resist); - The looks are awesome, even better that XBox version ; - Nope, not third-person view but FPWV to get back the [GR] feeling; - No medical aids, so you have to be extremely carefull and plan your approach more tactical; - the 3D map is more advanced than the luchbox version; - a more extended version of the Cross-com; - he gives GRIN a big for the AI. He says it's nothing like he has ever seen, superior to the XBox version, they nearly ever screw-up; - a very wide access area, absolutely not liniear; - indeed no more quicksaves, but the checkpoints are tacticly very well placed so that you will not experience any irritations of them; - well the new mp mode is already adressed by Minister; - single player campaign in MP mode, "something everybody has always wanted", which means one of the 4 becomes the leader, nice; - adresses the release date of may 2006 and he is assured it is gonna go through the roof with the GR! gamers and new GR|AW gamers! Indeed nothing new but again a very possitive preview by a big (Dutch) gamesite GRIN / UBI Edited April 7, 2006 by Toniezz
Minister
And another one they mention: -your first task is to find your team mates, cus they have landed spread over an certain area -each map about 2 , 2,5 hours gameplay -with the highest difficult level, you can't even heal between missions -about the mp: "[bo] promises a lot of Counter-Strike with rounds and buying of weapons in between [games]. But also a map that is divided into zones, which each team can take control of." Edited April 7, 2006 by Minister
FA sear
I'm anxious to hear just how different the PC version is from all of the people who bought a "XBox" for GRAW.

NYR_32
It's probably just one of the new game types, I wouldn't worry about it too much at this point.

Bahger
Thanks for the translation, Toniezz. I've never felt more disadvantaged for not speaking Dutch. - Re ingress: Yes, when the trailer came out and people started talking about the cool rope-drop, I aksed myself, "er where's the rope? Is it my video card?" - Can someone bear with me and describe exacly what FPWV is? I thought it was no weapon visible, just the recticle, but that is obviously not the case here. - All in all, I'm really encouraged by the total commitment to tactical gameplay. If the AI is sound, the missions well-balanced and the savepoints well placed (as the preview states) then I'm a big advocate of no quicksaving. I like being out on a tightrope with no net as long as I believe I'm in the hands of a good designer.
Toniezz
No problem about that 'translation' Bahger, why learn Dutch? Al Dutch speak english (some on the countryside don't, hehe) Bahger - Re ingress: Yes, when the trailer came out and people started talking about the cool rope-drop, I aksed myself, "er where's the rope? Is it my video card?" Answer: At the start of the video the ghosts rope down from the heli. See picture below. But I do think you are taking a pi$$ out of me Bahger - Can someone bear with me and describe exacly what FPWV is? I thought it was no weapon visible, just the recticle, but that is obviously not the case here. Answer: FPWV stands for First Person Weapon View, Which means you are in First Person View (FPV) with Weapon in view. Answer: Dunno if this was an question but... in this case in what I have seen GRIN do and make, you don't have to be afraid of GRAW being a hoax. But I do think you are taking a pi$$ out of me I'm not taking the ######, it would be disrespectful to someone who has provided a service. I'm confused though: If, as the preview states, the PC features parachute drops as opposed to the "XBox's" helo-drops, then what is a helo drop doing in a PC trailer? I'm sure I'm missing something very simple here.

Toniezz
Oh ok, I missread your post. I thought you didn't see the rope, haha I thought how could he have missed that thick rope, he must be messing with our mind (in a funny way , thats why I said I think someone is takin´ a pi$$ out of me, meant it as a joke, no harm meant no harm felt Jur right, but the halo jump is the first mission of the game. Maybe this video is from an other mission or an other insert of that mission. I think they don't wan't to spoil that Halo jump for us. They probably save that for us to find out when we play the game by ourselves. Cheerzz *edit, indeed both should be in the game. Lightspeed
Bahger, According to the review, Im pretty sure the opening scene involves parachuting into the city - at later stages we will be using choppers to get around.
