jsonedecker 4
I thought I would point out a few articles/interviews by Warren Spector that offer up a very candid and mostly accurate account of the games business and how tough it is to function in, let alone prosper. Check them out of you are interested in some insight into the things guys like us face almost everyday, and a lot of times every night while we lay awake in bed trying to figure out how to make it work. http://www.escapistmagazine.com/issue/37/4 http://www.escapistmagazine.com/issue/38/4 http://www.escapistmagazine.com/issue/39/17 -John
Colin 0
Thanks John, I lke this quote, But power comes at a price. Once the hardware is capable of something, someone's going to do it. And once someone does it, everyone will be expected to. So, for example, once someone throws 100 artists at a game, and it looks like something from Pixar but real time and interactive, we're all going to be expected to "ooch" ourselves above that new, higher, way more expensive quality bar. Its all a good read, when we ask for things in game ist not easy to decide whats in and whats out, and at what cost. I suppose in a couple of years, given the time, the money and the hardware, Devs should be able to do just about anyhthing.
