I just wanted to ask which version would be good for my computer, and where i can download it. I have no idea where I can download Linux. Please help! firefly2442 Posted March 27, 2006 Share Posted March 27, 2006 No. You need the latest .iso image. An iso file is basically just an image of a CD. You take the iso image and then use a program like Nero or similar burning software to burn the image to a CD. Then boot from the CD and it should work like a charm. http://www.linuxiso.org/ At this website over on the left side in the menu there's some pages on what ISO files are and how to burn them and so on. After 5 hours wrestling with Gentoo and it not working after a restart, I popped in a cd and it was running within 45 minutes (inc. tea break). Runs from a disk as well.
