Dick Splash 23
I read in a PC World once, how to prevent unwanted programs starting up when you tune on your PC. I've forgotton how. Does anyone know? BTW, I'm using 98SE. DS

Giampi 39
Can I suggest to use a tiny software called Starter? It's agreat tool and there's no risk to use it. You can simply deactivate the process you don't want to load and later on reactivate it in case of any problem

I only selected things I recognised. Most I left were Symantec NSW pieces. DS

Giampi 39
I'm very fond of freeware/shareware, apart the OS my laptop doesn't host commercial softwares (alsocI use openoffice rather than MS Office). I find everything i need in this site: Snapfiles Edited March 26, 2006 by GiWeDa

Dick Splash 23
Sounds like time for an upgrade ←Yeh come on dude, your going to be two generations behind shortly! ←Hey come on.....I moved to the US four years ago when XP started to get more common place. I built my PC six years ago. Since being in the US, it's not been a priority, but more an affordably out of reach luxury. What I want to do this year is build my uber PC, and still keep this PC with a 'lightened' HD to play older still sealed games on. I reluctantly replaced my two DDR's because one of them failed, and I was looking into maybe upgrading the mobo, graphics and P4 too, but 98SE prevents me from doing so it seems. Kamakazi 0
Thank you Giweda for posting the link to Starter. Had it awhile ago, and for some reason hadnt been able to find a download location that didn't involve a &*&* load of spyware. For some reason that little site had dodges my searches. Muchas Gracias
