Ok, here's what I've done so far...

Recommended Posts

Ok, so here's what I've done... I installed GR (original), then I installed patch 1.3, then patch 1.4, then Desert Siege, then the Actors patch... whatever that is. I thought I did these in the correct order, but perhaps not? On Ubi, I can see the list of available games currently in session in the lobby, but when I join one and it tries to connect, it hangs. Did I simply install the patches in the incorrect order? I don't want to use any of the mods, just Desert Siege. I looked on this forum, but could not find specifics.... Is Ubi really that much of a pain to uninstall? What a hassle. I haven't played GR in about 2 years, but I don't remember having this problem.

Thank you in advance,

Faulkner1974

By the way, Windows XP Media Center Edition, DSL, Cisco 678 Router, Firewall is off, and my favourite color is black.

This may not be the specific page you want, but you can browse the links at the bottom of the page for info about troubleshooting the UBI Game Service.

I think you installed the patches correctly. I might be mistaken, but I think the actors(1.2) patch was included with 1.3.

When you get to the page at the UBI game service that lists all the rooms for GR, you are aware that Desert Siege is known as MP1 in the mods column.

I'm guessing there aren't many rooms patched to 1.4 and running only DS.

I hope you get it sorted and welcome to gr.net :)
