I'm making myself a thread similar to Prozac's... Misc work:

I don't like this model at all, but I figure I may as well post it. Essentially my first shot at highpoly characters, and my first real attempt at a female.

Drawing by James Hawkins used as concept. Any comments on proportions or design choices aren't really needed, since it wasn't my design.

Back is pretty much untouched, along with the legs and arms past the shoulder. Torso needs a lot more work too... I just decided to give up and move on. I learned enough from doing it. I didn't decide to clean up the seam, in case I go back to it.

Good start Sup! U making this for some game or just for fun?

Thanks. I'm making it for practice and learning. I need to get highpoly character modeling and anatomy down for Normal Map generating models.

Looks good! Polycount? Also i think this should be good mesh if u wanna try sculpting with zbrush. U could go crazy with details in there and make some really good normal maps after it.

Thanks.

I didn't check the polycount, it's got level 2 meshsmooth. I don't have Zbrush, but I'll definitely learn it in the future. Probably next year.

For a change of pace, I'm trying to learn texturing. Astoundingly good for me, but by most standards not so great. WIP, of course.

Not exactly human, if that's not immediately clear.

Great start Sup! Lips could use some work yeah. Also the area under nose. Show us smoothed result!

It's not gonna' be smoothed, it's midpoly.

I'd be using slightly different topology for a smoothed model (and the lips would look alright)
