Remember this thread anybody? Some stuff in there is pretty relevant.

Great link. I've been playing too much BF2 as of late, I guess. I hit targets running or standing at 400 meters, I hit them and they just fly through the air. Those soldiers were armour though. And 1 shot, unless it's a headshot won't kill. It takes two. It just gives that extra edge. It's a nice touchup.

Cheers

DUDE! did u not watch the video, the guys were "flying" off the side of that cliff. u cant tell me that that is resputable

And did you not read the text on the right that says it was actually hunters shooting vermin in America

I'm no expert on weaponry but i'm sure a 50 cal weapon would have some punch on impact of a human body and probably enough to throw him backwards.

I doubt it would make him fly though.

One things for sure we are likely to see some flying death animations purely because they look cool.

GRAW and such games are designed to be realistic but also to have an element of Hollywood in them, because that enhanced action is what the end user expects to see.

lol!!!!!!!

i swear that was not there before, seirously!

I wonder if scopes will:

-lose zero if roughly handled?

-fog up in bad weather?

-lose zero/get crud on them if near an explosion?

-glare if the sun hits them?

-accurately reflect recoil/the difficulty in reacquiring a target?

there's a reason why everyone isn't a "sniper" in an army.

Very good points. Can you select different scopes. etc. Bo, please?

What I also miss in most games is the Recoil with sniper rifles. Especially with firing the .50 calibers.

I can answer one of those questions for you, yes there will breathing to steady the aim.

Great,

Bo, I'm dying to hear some feedback on this very topic. Please give a hint or two?

Cheers

Yeah I'd like to know too, I want to compare to the real thing.

M82A1A SASR? *cradles*

The most important thing I want to know is if windage + gravity affect the bullet and whether or not the glass factor has been implemented (Bullet going up when going through glass, bullet dropping at water surface, etc)

Also, it's not physically possible to "blow someone through the air" with a 50cal (or any gun for that matter). So, changes are... because we're sticking with realism, you wont see that either.

Depends what you mean. The person in his/her entirety or pieces of that person. A trench shotgun is a wonderful thing.

I believe Bo said earlier that these effects would not be in GRAW due to the average engagement range.

yeah I second that, Bo definatley stated a month or more ago that they looked into it but because of the distances involved it woudn't work. I think ultmately it just would've made the game sights appear buggy & frustrating so they ditched it.

I'm all for realisim but not at the cost of game play. GR1 had a good balance & I'm sure GRAW will also. Lets be honest the shooting distance would need to be huge to justify it & you'd need some kinda 3d wind-o-meter to give you an idea of direction & strength of wind

nah! I'm pleased with there decision
