Zeko 33
Do u need it with sound?
Whisper_44 0
Yes sounds are necessary, it's going into a PowerPoint presentation
Zeko 33
Ok here goes. Grab this program http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.p...lease_id=352709 and install it. U will also need Xvid or DivX or some different codec (i dunno what u r up to). Open up VirtualDubMod and go to File>Open Video File and browse to a *.Vob file u want to open. It might take some time on opening file so grab a drink while u wait . Now go to Video>Frame Rate and under Source Rate Adjustment select 3rd option (Change so video and audio durations match) and press OK. Now go again to Video and make sure that there is a black dot left of Full Processing Mode, if not just click on that option. Now again go to Video>Compression and select your codec. Settings here are depending on what codec you will use so i wont go into details here but if u will have problems with it, we'll go into details later on. Usually you just need to adjust compression quality. Now lets continue. Look at the picture i posted. At #1 on picture there is a slider so you can scroll over movie. Now move that slider to the point of where you want to start cutting your movie. You can move frame by frame (additional controls are below that slider and are pretty straightforward) and when you are at desired frame, press button at arrow 2. This will tell proggie where is starting to cut. Now for setting your end of movie, just move your slider to the point where you wanna end it and press buttons at arrow 3. This will select your cutting sequence. Well now you're almost finished! Go to File>Save As and give your movie some name and pick destination and press Save. Now finish that drink and wait till program is working. When it's done, test your movie and thats it! If you have any problems, just post here and we'll solve it. I hope this mini guide is understandable cuz my english sucks
WytchDokta 6
You can do it with Sony Vegas 6 too, with a little bit of jiggery pokery.... GooseBumps knows how to do it through SV6. GooseBumps, care to comment?

WytchDokta 6
Yeah, although there is a trial version of SV6 out there, it's limited to what it can do compared to the full version. I doubt the trial version of SV6 will actually allow you to rip audio from DVD, there's even limited codecs of various that you can save to with the trial. I have the full version though. That is *cough*Free*cough* too I can Rip Xvid, .mov, .rm, .mpg, .avi & it wont make the sound tinny or distorted & fuzzy Like Virtual Dub can do, once i ripped a music video to audio using VD and it lost some quality too it, i ripped a music video "Angel One - Hold me tonite" Using SV 6 & the quality was great .. Tis a way of teh dragon..

If done right, there is no problem at all.

Zeko 33
Well Virtual Dub is something different and it's used for similar stuff. It cant open *.vob files from DVD but has more options for different video file types than Virtual Dub Mod.
