Night Vision not working

Recommended Posts

I just bought the gold version of Ghost Recon. Installed and patched up to 1.4. I haven't installed the expansions or any mods (there was a previous topic where someone had the issue but had mods installed). I played through the training missions and got to the part that requires night vision... when I turn it on the console changes green but the screen is basically black. To my left I could see some light creeping through the bottom of the door, so I can see lit areas fine just not the unlit which kind of defeats the purpose of night vision. I haven't got to any night missions yet so I haven't been able to test it outside of the training missions.

Specs:

OS: Windows XP x64

CPU: AMD64 3500+

RAM: 1GB

Video Card: ATI Radeon X700pro 256 MB (Catalyst 6.1)

I tried lowering some effects and texture settings. I will try updating to Catalyst 6.2 but I have my doubts about that working.

Thanks I though that might be the case. When I get to the command area there appears to be a dark room with a line on the floor that leads to this area. The line fades as the room gets dark. I wonder if they changed they way they implemented night vision in the game but didn't set up the training area properly. It would seem they intended you to follow a line from the start, up the stairs and to the command area. I played the ridiculously crappy gamecube port a while ago and don't rember having difficulty but that was a while ago.. and they could have implemented things differently.

Oh well as long as it works in the actual game I'm fine with it.
