FN MAG 7,62x51 NATO...the latest addition to ADF Operation Stabilise mod's arsenal...

This will be a standard tango support weapon..

Special thanks to @Suicide Commando for the pics of this pig-ugly but highly effective weapon

WOW

Good job, that looks real good!

I have to ask this, how many bullets does the mag box hold? The real one holds 600-1200 unlike the50 that the one in GR holds. (both M240G & FN MAG are virtually the same gun)

No way the real one has 600-1200 rounds in the box. Can you even imagine how heavy the weapon would be?

Most boxes for the MAG holds 50 or 100 round. Or more precis 49 or 99 as that is how the belts are built. By the size of the box on the picture I would say it's a 100 round box.

@Wolfsong is right...I modeled the weapon with a 100rd box mag...

FN MAG weghts 10,15kg...a 100rd box (acording to GR) weights 1,6kg; weapon with 100rd mag total weight is 11,75kg (25,9lbs)

Now imagine it with a 600rd mag..9,6kg..total weapon weight of 19,75kg (43,54lbs) ..or 1200rd mag..19,2kg...total weapon weight of 29,9kg (65,9lbs).. <_<

Geez <_<

I didnt think GR would make the weapon and that much ammo register that much weight.

Kinda reminds me of the Vulcan/Mini guns that are on some mods with 3,800 rounds. These Ghosts must be real strong, which would explain that hidden pic in IT where it says the Ghosts have ''strong knees''.

Because you lift with your legs and not your back.

*sorry I couldnt find the link to what I was refering too, but its some where deep in the forums*lol

I remember that pic.

ZRated told me that he would carry a 50 round starter belt and when engaging a target, his ammo bearer (or assistant gunner?) would clip on like a 500 round belt. I can't remember, the details are a little fuzzy.

Say, has anyone seen him around lately?

The FN MAG ejects shell casings out the bottom of the receiver from what I've heard, so any box mag for it should hang off the side like in the pic above, so it doesn't block brass ejection.

The model looks great though Streinger, great work.

Suicide Commando - can you share those pics with me? Good FN MAG shots are hard to come by.

@Earl, thaks for that info!!! I couldn't find any pic with a mag box actually attached to the weapon, so I placed the box under the receiver section, the same way it is placed on M249...will re-model the mag right away.

BTW, that box on the pic looks rather small...50rd IMO. Is there a 100rd box that can be mounted on the side of the weapon? Would it tilt the weapon too much to the left?

It's done..no renders yet, though..will post some on demand...

The box mag is now a bit less wide, and it's been moved to the left and up a bit, so it now appears to be attached to the left side of the weapon, right below the feeding port...feeding belt is still visible. In short, it now looks like on the pic posted by @Sgt. Crocodile...

I would appreciate any additional info on the weapon...for e.g. the box mag shown on the pic..is it 50rd, 100 rd...200rd maybe? What is the standard, what models are there..capacity-wise?
