Well at least that one issue is sorted. Happy to hear it too. As said the chr's/skins were what I was mainly looking forward to.

That is, if I get round to sending them off for exporting. Too many late nights recently, one of them spent with a foreign girl and one colleague (the girl was a friend of my colleague). Trouble is, something happened.... I mean I didn't get back home until 2 AM :D:whistle: ..... I had to exorcise that place too (in true witchdoctor style) 'cause that place was haunted, and none of the lights worked. Hence my late replies to PM's just lately, eh Phlook?

You reckon? I will let you pass your own judgement when this mod is out, and when the content I made for other modders' upcoming projects is cast into the community. The truth is out there; you will find the answer in my work.

Who wants me to drop some freestyle riffs from my acoustic guitar into the mod? 0:)

I just got it retuned today.

  • 4 weeks later...

Well perhaps I can save this mod from imminent death. All I'd need to do is get permission to use the weapons already out there from existing mods. I will need the help of you guys to point in the direction of the mods where I can find the weapons I need and the respective modders I need to contact in order to request permission.

By doing this, it means I can skip one phase forward - I can skip the weapon modeling and texturing/exporting (which I can't do to save my life) stage. That means you probably won't get the weapon configs I already promised but it means atleast I can release the mod. All great things require sacrifice in some sort of way right? If I can successfully skip that said phase, all I'll have left to do is to finish of the skins and weapon sounds, and get the rest of the character models exported.

Help me to help you.

Do you have a list of the kits you need tracing owners of?

Thanks for the support. Here's the list of all the weapons I would like to hold of for DANFOR:

C7/M203

C7/Elcan

C7/Carry handle

All of the above but with a supressor.

Same as all above for the C8's.

C7 LSW (30rnd mag)/Carry handle

C7 LSW (C-Mags)/carry handle

Same again as the C7 LSW's above but with Elcans instead of carry handles

C7 CT

MG3

MG3/Elcan

Sig P210

Sig P210 SD

MP5/Aimpoint

MP5 SD6/Aimpoint

TRG42

Carl-Gustaf M84

M136 AT4

Note the G3 isn't mentioned above as it's no longer in use with any of the Danish military branches with the exception of the Home Guard. Well, that's just the list for the friendlies, I would like to get hold of new weapon models for the OpFor too, but dunno if any of the Zastava range of weapons have been made for GR before (bear in mind they are basically AK clones, but chambered for different calibers than the AK's)

I'm doing all I can to keep it going, as it's not like me to give up. If I can get permission for the use of these weapons then rest assured, I will definitely continue on with the project so that it get released.

So it seems my list of weapons above is slightly off compared to actual weapons used, but only very slightly. As I'm going for realism, I want to try and get it correct. I should recieve the info on what weapons are currently in service later today, and thereby, I will update the weapons list in the post above.

Already there. Thanks for that, I will look into it. Natsanwa's model packs have some of the models I require, he has made M16's though.

Any mission scripters still active and got some time free soon? It would be nice to see atleast Operation Stampede (the seizing of an enemy airbase, lead by the RAF Regiment with a supporting Danish assault force including armour support) & Operation Bombscare (Jaegerkorpset shut down an enemy bomb making factory for good) see the light of day.

After months of trying to find the answers to my questions I had on the weapons currently in Danish military service, I have today recieved the official lowdown. I have also got confirmation that Danish regular forces currently do not field snipers, instead they field marksmen. SOF field snipers.

I'm going to post what I now know about the weapons in Danish military service. From that, you should be to determine an updated weapons list.

- The Gevaer M/95 (Diemaco C7A1) is the standard issue rifle. Black polymer mags are standard. All frontline units are issued with the Elcan optical sight. In the Danish military, the M203 grenade launcher is never used with this rifle.

- The Karabin M/96 (Diemaco C8A1) is issued primarily to officers and NCO's. This is also the only rifle to which the Danish military fits the M203 grenade launcher. Black polymer mags are standard. All frontline units are issued with the Elcan optical sight.

- A Karabin M/96 variant with sniper scope is known to be used by Froemandskorpset, at least in training missions. Use outside of training missions is not confirmed, but likely for CT operations. This has been knwon to be used from inside a helicopter itself, where the weapon is attached to the helicopter possibly via bungee chord.

-Both the PSG-1 and MSG90 have seen action with Jaegerkorpset.

- The M/49 Neuhausen (SIG P210) has been in service with the Danish military since 1949(!!) and is the standard issue side-arm for officers, military police, SOF and NCO's. To date, there has been no evidence of suppressors, or any other such accessories (laser sights etc) that can be mounted on to the pistol. There is however, another pistol in with Danish SOF units and accessories can be mounted to it, but further info on the pistol is currently unavailable.

- Jaegerkorpset apparently use 3.5x ACOG scope or Aimpoint; Froemandskorpset use the smaller ACOG, which is fitted atop the detachable carry handle. Use of suppressors within Danish SOF is possible, but not confirmed.

- The Grenatkaster M203 is in limited use with regular forces on the M/96 only. It's also used by SOF, but much less frequently.

- The Maskinpistol H&K MP5 was previously used extensively, but recently, Danish SOF seem to prefer the M/96 for CQB. It is likely being retained for hostage rescue/CT ops. Mostly, but not always, issued with an Aimpoint. Used by SOF only.

- H&K MP5 SD is used by SOF only. Formerly standard issue for LRRP patrols, but less commonly in use recently. It is likely being retained for hostage rescue/CT ops. Mostly, but not always, issued with an Aimpoint.

- The Let Maskingevaer M/62 (MG3/MG42/56) is the standard LMG. Just a few years ago, the version used was the earlier MG42/56 model. Usually, but not always fitted with an optical sight, of which the Elcan is the most common. The Aimpoint has also been confirmed as being used, but in smaller numbers.

- The FN Minimi SPW is used by Froemandskorpset. Could also be in use with Jaegerkorpset, but unconfirmed. Froemandskorpset operators mount a Diemaco detachable carry handle with the smaller ACOG sight. The 200rd plastic ammo box is used as is the vertical grip. This is not the M249 Para or the MK46, it s the original Belgian made FN Minimi SPW design.

- The Let Støttevåben (LSV) M/04 (Diemaco C7A1 LSW) appears to be almost identical to the C7A1 LSW, and is almost always fitted with the Elcan. Not in use with Danish SOF.

- The bolt action TRG-42 (possible Danish designation: Finskyttegevær M/06?) is now officially confirmed as to being the standard issue sniper rifle. Users of the weapon in regular forces are trained only as marksmen, SOF users are trained as full snipers.

- The SR25/AR10 (T) has been tested by the Danish military, most probably SOF. It is equipped with a high powered sniperscope with a small HUD-type red-dot sight mounted on top.

- A rifle that resembles the Diemaco C7 CT has also been spotted in pictures/videos being tested by the Danes, but this is strictly unconfirmed.

- The later model of the Barret M82 Light Fifty has been used by Jaegerkorpset around 5 years ago, but it's no longer in service.

- The Dysekanon M/84 (Carl-Gustav M3) is the standard 84mm recoilless rifle used by regular forces. It is not known to be used by SOF, but it's possible.

- The Panservaernsraket (PVN) (AT4) is the standard AT4/M136 diposable anti-tank rocket launcher. Used by both regular forces and SOF.

- A sawn off breaching shotgun is knwon to be used by Froemandskorpset, but only for breaching locked doors etc. Not used by regular forces.

Cool, I never knew the FKP (Froemandskorpset) use the FN Minimi SPW!

EDIT: slight update to list.

I've got some skins ready to go with my models now, so I'll forward them to my exporter to export with the models.

So, as I'm back on the case now, I'll post a list of development updates:

- Most of the reg. Danish specialists will be officers or NCO's of some sort, this means, most of them will be issued with the Karabin M/96 in various configs.

- The respective country flags have been added to the shoulders of the respective soldiers from that country.

- Soldiers from other countries will feature, both NPC's and playable (bonus content specialists etc). Below is a mini-list:

> UK

RAF Regiment NPC'S

New Jack Stone desert model

New Nigel Tunney woodland & desert models

> Holland

One Dutch specialist to replace Guram Osadze.

> Germany

New Klaus Henkel woodland & desert models

New Dieter Munz woodland & desert models

(they have completely new torsos built off my Danish army torsos as IRL they the same flak vests)

> Lithuania

New Astra Galinsky woodland & desert models

(she wears the NATO woodland camo, and the US 3 colour desert camo. She also wears no flak vest)

> USA

New Scott Ibrahim desert model

New Susan Grey woodland & desert models

- Enemy character models (nearly 40 in all) are completed. I just need to do the skins and get them exported. Most of them will wear the Serbian tigerstripe camo, some (mainly snipers/scouts) will wear the Yugoslav yellow branch camo).

- Dankstarn refined (again). It looks alot better now and I'll probably go with this revision.

- Danish NPC ground vehicle crew models completed, they just need skinning and exporting now.

- Further Danish SOF models completed. Not all of them are done yet. Their not as easy to do as the other Danish model (can't copy over sections off my Danish soldiers) because they use different flak vests etc, so I've had to build the torso's from scratch (which now don't fit the default arm sets I made, so I need to fix that)

- Most of the Danish soldier character models completed. There's over 60 Danish soldier models so going through and refining them all prior to skinning and exporting is taking quite some time.

- Sounds revised. They are in their final revision now. Just a few more to add and I'm done on the sound front.

I'm aiming to get the characters exported ASAP. It will probably be the NPC's and soldiers from other nations and the new enemy models first because I haven't finished all the Danish soldier models yet.

Turns out that the other pistol being tested by Danish SOF could be a Glock of some sort. I'm guessing probably not the model #17, why would they need a full auto pistol?

@Tinker, OK, will do soon.

The 17 is not full auto or am I mistaken? The 18 is, though.

:hmm:

Any chance of a brief to get the mind ticking in advance?

:D

Tinker

I'm working on it. It's gonna involve alot of troops and vehicles (and a two pronged attack with armour support)

@CC, well, whichever one is full auto, I'm sure it wouldn't be that one they use.

Bajabravo isn't around these forums anymore. I guess I could send him an email and see what happens.

Just waiting to hear back from my exporter and then some screenshots of the Astra model and the RAF Regiment model textured should be available.

@Tinker, if you read this, I plan to have an almost finished briefing of the mission to you later today. I can't do anything until atleast 15:00 because I'm at work until then :wall:
