Snake@War 0
Are you planning of buying a new rig with PCI-Express? I would definitly go PCI-E if you haven't already. Once you do that, I'ld get at least a Radeon x1600 pro. They're only $130 US on NEWEGG.com If you want a card that you can use now, I've got a Sapphire Radeon 9600 AGP 4x/8x 256mb you could have for $50 + actual shipping. It will run Lockdown on medium @ 30-40 fps on my rig. I'ld just wait for the new rig, or even a mobo, with PCI-E, though. How much Ram do you have? At least 1GB? Cpl Ledanek 247
@rhysjoe, first of all, welcome aboard and hope you stay---sometimes I forget to welcome in ppl here. what's your budget? what processor is your preferrences: it tends to start a processor war here. So if you want Pentium, we'll try to keep with your need for a Pentium. what's is your primary use for this pc and what is your secondary use. what is your preferrence to videocards: ATI or nVidia? Again, trying to avoid a camp-fight what parts you have already: Aluminum case, full tower or mid, power supply, rams: what type or how much you got now---this helps with the budgeting. What games do you intend to play and realistically how soon: like as soon as it comes out or wait for 6 months? Just be patient with the response. Some of the good ppl here eager to help you. And please do let us know what your decisions and if you can find the time to give us benchmarks, that would help the next guy. Again welcome aboard, pull a chair. Cpl Ledanek 247
I found this with GoogleAsus P4S 333 Comparison chart and it says you have an 4X AGP slot. These cards are the once I was able to pull off Newegg. Given your in UK, I wouldn't know the cards model name over there. eVGA 256-A8-N387-TX Geforce 6800GS 256MB GDDR3 AGP 4X/8X Video Card XFX PVT40BUDD3 Geforce 6800GS 256MB GDDR3 AGP 4X/8X Video Card both are 6800GS (suppose to be cheaper and comparable with GTs) both have 256MB memory both GDDR3 both OpenGL 2.0 just in case the games you'll be playing soon requires it. other technical features will be provided to you soon my other ppl. I gave you nVidia recommnedations. Plus max your RAM 2GB Mushkin Soon ppl will give you ATI recommendations. Soon ppl will tell you to save and buy a new mobo, memory, and vidcard. Just to give you heads up. there will be more suggestions just be patient

The problem with your system is that if you want to upgrade, you will need to upgrade your cpu and mobo and RAM all at the same time, as there are not many motherboards with PCI Express that support the Socket 478 Pentium 4's. (They all have the new LGA775 sockets). Your PC2100 (DDR266 RAM) is also a bottleneck in your system.

Both major GPU makers are making new versions of their high performance cards for AGP. One thing you can do is see if you can get a BIOS update for your mobo that will update your AGP to 4X/8X. Then you can run the latest AGP cards. Failing that, you can get a Radeon 9800 Pro with either 128RAM or 256 RAM for 170.00-250.00 US. The 9800 Pro will run on AGP 4X.
